Stephen A. Smith wants all black people to vote Republican in 2016

Featured Replies

ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith spoke on Wednesday at Vanderbilt University. In his remarks, he offered a rebuke to African Americans' strong voting alliance with Democrats. Here's part of what Smith had to say:

What I dream is that for one election, just one, every black person in America vote Republican....Black folks in America are telling one party, ‘We don’t give a damn about you.’ They’re telling the other party, ‘You’ve got our vote.’ Therefore, you have labeled yourself ‘disenfranchised’ because one party knows they’ve got you under their thumb. The other party knows they’ll never get you and nobody comes to address your interest.

Better watch what he says, ESPN will suspend him again if it doesn't fit their agenda.

He's right about neither party really having to address African Americans.

That's an interesting perspective. Makes sense.

That speech and commentary is from back in March.

He is 100% correct. As a voter you should vote as an individual and what fits your ideas. Our county has turned into flocks of sheep.

Stephen A won some points with me today.

He is absolutely right. I am probably in the minority on BGP but I like Stephen A. He has said things I don't agree with at all but I find his opinions usually at least defendable and thought out...

He has some serious guts because when these comments get out he will get roasted by many on the left...

I generally like Stephen A. too but his credibility (and ESPN) took a hit with me over one of the many issues surrounding domestic violence.

What I don't understand is why black folks vote for democrats. Illegals are taking jobs away from everyone including black people and the left has give illegals more right that the rights blacks have been fighting for for 50 years.

Because he said it was possible for women to provoke domestic violence?

Even though I'm a card-carrying southpaw, I agree on all counts.

We live in a country were people are vilified for say 'all live matters'. Of course O'Malley got back in good graces by saying that ISIS was a result of climate change. I kid you not.

It's a sad day when someone feels the need to apologize for having the audacity to say "all lives matter". The fact that he did shows he has no business running for president. If you can't stand up for yourself when you say THAT, just go home...

You mean you didn't know that the Middle East was a rainforest until the last 100 years when evil men turned it into a 110 degree desert???
