CHARLESTON, S.C. (Post and Courier) - The sister of accused church shooter, Dylann Roof, is asking the public for donations to pay for her wedding which was cancelled in the aftermath of the Charleston shootings. Now, she is feeling the collective rage of the internet.

 

Amber Roof is asking for $5,000 to pay for her and her fiance's wedding, which was originally scheduled for June 21. She set up a Go Fund Me page to pay for weddings costs and their honeymoon.

 

"Our wedding day was suppose to be the most important and special day of our lives. It was suppose to start our lives together with our new family. Our day was the exact opposite. Our wedding day was full of sorrow, pain, and shame, tainted by the actions of one man," Amber said in the post.

 

Amber wrote that she will donate 10% of the money to Emanuel AME, the church where her brother allegedly killed 9 people.

 

While some posts were supportive, defending Amber and pointing out that she turned her brother in to police, other posts accused her of being selfish.

 

"I'm sorry, but it is insane to me that you have the nerve to ask people to donate for a honeymoon. Look, I'm sorry your brother screwed up your wedding plans, however I'm way more concerned about the people who lost their loved ones," said one poster.

 

Roof and her fiance have not rescheduled their wedding.

Maybe she should contact Rand Paul's old friend, the "Southern Avenger" to help with the fundraising.

I feel bad that her brother ruined her wedding. And she is smart, she knows that people will send her money, not I, but im sure that she will get more than the 5k, in anyone's book, that's just being smart.
