June 29, 201511 yr Dwyane Wade Opts out and is seeking a reported 3 years at around $16M per. At 33 with a lot of miles on him and nagging injuries is there any way he's worth that to a team? If so where would he be a good fit? Can he still be a difference maker come playoff time for a contender?

June 29, 201511 yr With the cap increasing the last two years of the deal it's not a horrible deal. It's a gamble of course but if healthy there still are only a handful of two guards better. I know it's a big if on health. But if your Miami I think you take that risk.

He's been with the Heat for 12 years and has never been the highest paid player on the team. How crazy is that? He wanted a Kobe contract from the Heat and the Heat are positioning themselves to make a run at KD next season.

June 30, 201511 yr I'm confused...not surprising to many on here I know... Why do the Heat "owe" him the max if nobody else will pay him anywhere near that?? It's not like Wade was making minimum wage the last 12 years with the Heat. I understand if Wade leaves if he does not get what he wants. However, I also understand why the Heat don't want to blow up their salary cap for an aging, often injured player. It's a business both ways...

He took less money the last few years so that Bosh and James could also be signed...if he took what he was worth at the time they couldn't have signed those two.

In his mind he has brought 3 rings to the Heat. He is the best player to ever play for the Heat. He is the Heat's all time leading scorer and the face of the Heat. He's sacrificed money for the Heat and he wants to end his career as the highest paid Heat player. I like his argument seeing as how he has never been the highest paid player in a season for the Heat. I hope they pay him. I don't want to see him as a Laker. Maybe he'll go to Cleveland.
June 30, 201511 yr Heat owe him the max. If he's only asking for $16 mil they should oblige. I don't disagree but that's bad business. Just like the Kobe contract. If they give Wade that money it will take them the duration of the contract to recover.
