Why? Because I don't buy into just because Rose was a great player (which he was) he automatically belongs in the HOF. Character for whatever reason matters in the baseball HOF to the writers that vote.

There should be A LOT of guys left out of the HOF if character is that big of a factor. It's a HOF for baseball skills not if you were a jerk or not.

Yeah, I can't imagine he would have thrown a game or bet on himself (Reds) to lose either...as far as betting on them to win, yeah that's pretty easy to believe.

 

On a side note ARod (how many times has he been suspended) just got his passed Willie Mays on the all-time HR list and collected his 3000th hit, all while getting paid over $20,000,000 this season.

Almost all of the stars of yesteryear took speed or in some cases cocaine to make sure they were up for the game that day. If everyone that took something like that was kept out of the hall it would be virtually empty. I say let the roid users in also.

Agreed. I've said I'd thought that's how this would play out for a while. And I think its embarrassingly for the MLB if that's what they decided to do.
