I think Harang will will be good in game 3. He has pitched well against Reds recently.

Perfect night. Cueto looked great, but the team choked away a win. Anything to keep the clown show upstairs from thinking they can contend this season is a good thing...

A strong Johnny Cueto is all I wanted going into the night, too.

Reds have not won a series in Philly since 2006.

Reds haven't won a series at Citizens Park since August 2006. They're 8-21 during that stretch.

Their 4-game sweep going into the All-Star Break a couple years ago still haunts me.

Sounds familiar. :D

For those keeping score at home, they're now 8-21.

Hopefully a strong start by Leake tomorrow and we can trade Cueto and Leake before their next start. Bring up Dejesus to play left and let the getting younger begin.

Blessing in disguise. Hate it for Byrd but love it as a Reds fan, anything to help limit his number of at bats.

I was hoping he would be a good trade piece at the deadline.

Heck with DeJesus. Bring up Kyle Waldrop or Yorman Rodriguez and see what they can do.

I wonder what Cueto really thinks with all of this quality starts being wasted.

It'll be interesting to see what they do to replace Byrd.

Based on their history, they'll probably bring up another pitcher...

"Thank God I'll be on a new team in about a month"?

I'd love to see them give Yorman a shot. He's been on a nice hot streak the last week or so. Hitting .333 over his last 10. His plate discipline is terrible but it would be nice to see some youth brought up. Steve Selsky is a dark horse to be brought up. In the end I'd say it ends up being Dejesus. It's a shame Winker didnt start the season on fire, it would've been a perfect situation to bring him up IMO.

Would be nice if we could have Devin work out in left field for a couple weeks in Louisville and see how he feels out there. Would be a nice chance to get him some reps out there, I'm not sure his hip can handle it though or if it's worth risking further injury.

Can DeJesus play OF? I know I don't want to see Schumaker or Boesch out there on a consistent basis. Knowing the Reds they will trade for Chris Heisey today.

I'm not confident enough in Reds management to trade him or to limit his at bats. This way it takes the decision out of the Reds hands. He won't be earning the 550 PA or whatever he needed for his option to kick in.
