tdyballgame
Just got word that Big Orange will be making the trip to Lexington. Couple questions for anyone in the know, do people tailgate at these type events and is there an area for larger vehicles?

big blue 09
McCracken county consist of several kids that played for the Paducah Storm team that won several World Series in the travel ball circuit, including the USAAA, either AAA or Major world series and was #1 team in nation then. Several are college commits, most have the skill to go D1, not sure why they signed less, D2 or JUCO... They have won the region 3 years in a row, 2 at McCracken and 1 at Lone Oak. So they have state tournament experience. They are the most northern team to be ranked in the nation.
Jack of all Trades
Just got word that Big Orange will be making the trip to Lexington. Couple questions for anyone in the know, do people tailgate at these type events and is there an area for larger vehicles? Stay off the Woodford and no 'hot spots' allowed. Will TedfromVillaHills be in attendance that night as well? He seems to come out when the Birds begin state play. Isn't "Big Orange" the name of Timmy Barth's softball bat? FullCount32
McCracken lost to Hazard 5-1 in the first round last year. Hazard's roster consisted of 1 6th Grader 5 7th Graders 4 Frosh 6 Soph 3 SRs With all the talent McCracken couldn't beat a group of underclassmen? Enough with the stats and SOS regarding the Mustangs. This Highlands team will be ready. *Disclaimer* Not discounting Hazard at all.

tdyballgame
Those are fighting words. Your right. My apologies. So back to the game. So McCracken isn't showing up? That would help a lot. Thanks!

One great pitching performance can always be an equalizer in a one game situation like the State Tourney. With all of the athletic talent that HHS has in their school when was the last time they were in the state tourney?

With all of the athletic talent that HHS has in their school when was the last time they were in the state tourney? Maybe I should have quoted the post that I was responding to. The post that claimed that most were D1 talent but didn't know why they signed with D2 and JUCO schools. It may have still come across as a shot, maybe not. I believe back to back 96 and 97 seasons. Losing to Harrison Co. by 1 run both years.
jpa2825
Kinda wish this game was at McCracken Co. so I could get another pork chop at Patti's 1880 Settlement on the way! Should be a whale of a game. Expect Jones to start, but could certainly be Raisor. Birds need to do what they have done all season - have good ABs, play solid defense and throw strikes. If they do and it's not good enough, so be it. If it is, show up for the next scheduled game and try to do it again. Single elimination to win 7 straight games is a bit of a crap shoot for any team, but it's the system that we have so we'll play and congratulate the winner when done. Looking forward to it. BTW -- can't imagine game will actually start at 8:30 PM. 2:30 between games is not usually realistic, but with top pitchers going in all games, could happen. 75center
Outstanding job by the Birds to get into the tournament after knocking at the door 3 of the past 4 years. Coach B has done amazing things in his tenure to raise the program to this level. They've got the toughest draw possible but it is what it is. Do what they've been doing all year and hope it's good enough against the best team in the state. The Birds have outstanding talent and coaching and have played a very nice schedule so I'm very hopeful it will be enough to get them over this first big step.
