The "bump" was really weak. Thought I was watching professional wrestling the way the umpire threw his body back. The bump was slight at best, but the umpire made it look worse. I assume Votto was tossed for slamming his helmet on the ground, but ump should have the guts to make sure he was completely aware he was tossed and why.

I know people love to hate on him, but Brandon Phillips has been very good over the last 2 weeks. .400 OBP with 1 HR, 8 RBI, 6 runs scored & 3 SB's.

 

In 5 games in May (18 at bats), he's hitting .500 with a .550 OBP & 1.050 OPS.

Not with the pitching match ups.
