He came charging in because he was shocked that he had been ejected. No way he gets a 10 game suspension.

Your dislike of Votto is weird. He's without a shadow of a doubt the best player on their team, and one of the elite hitters in the game. He could go 4-5 with 4 HRs and 8 RBI and you'd find a way to blame the one out on some sort of mental instability. :lol2:

If you look at the timing, Votto is halfway to 1B or beyond when the home plate umpire thumbed him. As ColonelCrazy mentioned from watching MLB and from the Price interview after the game, it seemed like the umpire was confused about why Votto was so upset. Anyone watching could easily tell he was upset about the AB. Didn't like the 1st called strike, but the next 2 were swinging and he didn't even look at the ump. There was a verbal exchange with someone on the PIT side of the field, but Price says Votto was upset with himself and the Pirates were either on him for being a prima donna OR thought he was yelling at them. Votto seemed to tell them to pipe down as he was yelling at himself, not them. That's when he was sent to the showers. I totally love that he was so fired up about being tossed for no reason. Shouldn't have gotten within 5 feet of the ump, but I certainly would have given him my $ worth verbally after getting run for nothing. 3 games is my prediction. Appeal and then take them against the Cardinals. Gonna lose those 3 games w/ or w/o Votto!!!

May 7, 201511 yr David Ortiz bumped an umpire earlier this season and was only given one game. Interesting. I think Votto deserves more than that, considering the totality of the circumstances.

The video doesn't tell the whole story, you had to have watched the game as it played out. He honestly didn't know he had been ejected, Price didn't as well. The umpire didn't give any kind of a hand gesture,wave,whatever you want to call it to signal an ejection. Would be shocked if any more than 3 games.
