April 28, 201511 yr I heard Brantley on the radio. He says he is very concerned any time he hears ligament "sprain" instead of "strain."
April 28, 201511 yr Predicted TJS at my fantasy draft, hope I'm wrong though. It's Brantley's fear as well.
April 28, 201511 yr It's Brantley's fear as well. Looking at the advanced metrics on him from last year to this year, it definitely does not look promising.
April 28, 201511 yr His contract just gets worse and worse. That one makes me shake my head more than the others the Reds have offered to their guys. Really wish they would have dealt him after his second no hitter.
April 28, 201511 yr Those types of contracts happen when you have a meddling owner that thinks he knows baseball but cares more about butts in seats than winning games. Think about it- Bailey? no hitter. Chapman? radar gun. Votto? MVP.
April 28, 201511 yr Hopefully they don't botch this. Operate soon and get him back in time for next year. This year is a lost cause anyway. Trade Cueto and Chapman after the break and start over as much as you can with the BP, Bruce and Votto contracts a total start over is pretty tough.

Really sucks.
April 28, 201511 yr Lorenzon? It could be Lorenzon if the Reds decide Bailey is done for the year. In the other thread someone pointed out Lorenzon is not on the 40 man roster which means the Reds have to cut a player unless they put Bailey on the 60 day DL and sideline him for the season which opens a spot on the 40 man.
April 28, 201511 yr Guy wasn't worth the 100 million when the signed him. He is at best, a number 3 starter.
