Really wish they would have dealt him after his second no hitter. April 30, 201511 yr Those types of contracts happen when you have a meddling owner that thinks he knows baseball but cares more about butts in seats than winning games. Think about it- Bailey? no hitter. Chapman? radar gun. Votto? MVP. Now the contract Homer got is a contract worth complaining about, not the Votto or Chapman contracts.
April 30, 201511 yr A good majority of pitchers signed long term is going to have a TJ year on the house anymore.
May 1, 201511 yr The bigger question may be whether the Reds did any type of insurance on the elbow before they signed him to that massive contract.
