There are no allusions and/or innuendo. They chose not to play because they do not like the situation as it exists. Too many conflicts of interest. Cannot say it any clearer than that.

If the the school's would pay more then they wouldn't have these conflict of interest just saying.

 

It sounds like to me that this is an AD issue, if this is truly what is going on and he has had several come to him and hasn't at least investigated more i woudnt be blaming the coach i would blame the AD, just my opinion.

You are certainly correct in that assessment. The AD had several people come to him and nothing was investigated. Suggested to one girl that was a senior that maybe she should play a few JV games to get re-accustomed to the game after sustaining a serious injury playing club soccer in the spring. Another statement was that we have plenty of "parent" coaches that have been successful.

 

Pay is not the issue IMO as most schools pay the same for these type positions. These conflicts of interest are more than just having dad coaches. There is a new AD in town and hopefully he will perform the job better than it has been done in the past how many years. IMO a good AD should be closely monitoring all sports and should not be a coach of any sort in order to do the job the way it should be done.

Could it be that the school is fully aware of everything and the REAL issue could be a few disgruntled parents Pretty big stretch to indict all of HHS administration as if they don't have a clue or care. I believe they are fully involved and know the real challenges

I'm pretty convinced it's the parent issue. The real question is if you don't have a kid playing why get on here and ruin a good constructive conversation for everyone unless you have an ax to grind

Do they know "everything"? Administration knows only what they were told correct? Were they told the "truth"? Dig a little deeper my friend. Who doesn't have a kid playing? Who are the disgruntled parents?

 

If you know so much about all of this, why do you not address the elephant in the room? I am done on this subject and am sure that it will only fester for a while and then go BOOM.

Quantify "everyone"....

Without spending much time going through a bunch of old posts, it appears to be less that a handful of people.

People in general don't like change. A new coach during someone's 4 years in HS can be a big deal. Change in system, style, philosophy, and/or expectations, and suddenly a starter is a 2nd-stringer. Even the smallest of changes can become a MAJOR dissatisfier.

Why does he still have a job?

I'd say that it's because his boss (and plenty of others) think he's doing a good job.

How many teams are there that DO NOT have some subset of parents that are hacked off about the coach?

 

Near end of last football season, I had 2 parents (2 diff families) hyper-venting on me about the poor job Coach Weinrich was doing.

New updated top 10 based on pre-season..

 

1. NDA- lost to St Henry in scrimmage but its just a scrimmage.

2. NCC- looked very good when I saw them at Bluegrass.

3. HHS- debated on moving them to 4 based on all the drama but they have good players and GKs are solid.

4. Boone- another team that played great at Bluegrass. Pretty solid 1-11.

5. St Henry- is the NDA scrimmage a fluke or are they ready to step up to that next level?

6. Simon Kenton- solid new coach and his daughter is very good. Can their fresh keeper step up?

7. CC- solid on def side but offense may take some time to come together.

8. Brossart- watched some of their game vs SK. Pretty even from what I watched.

9. Ryle- not sure how this team will perform without their leader Hannah Poe.

10. Beechwood- young team that should improve during the season.

 

Good luck to all the NKY teams as they begin to battle next week for the right to represent their regions in the state tournament.

SK has a senior keeper that will be starting Varsity. She was at GSP during Bluegrass which is why the had a freshman keeper there.

Its hard to say when it comes to NCC. I've seen them play. They have a solid defense, but their midfield and attack is nonexistent so far. Losing Zimmerman was a big blow. They miss that ball control in the mid. It will be interesting to see how the season plays out from them.
