Wife and I are in the process of planning a trip to Chicago in mid-June while the Reds are in town, and are hoping to score tickets for one or two of the 4 game series.

 

I've been to Wrigley a couple times, but it was probably 10-12 years ago.

 

What's the best areas to sit? Are there any areas to make sure we avoid when looking for tickets?

I'll be in town for that series as well. Great question. I've only been once a few years ago and I sat behind the 3rd base dugout and pretty far back. They weren't bad seats. I think I want to try the left field bleachers, they should be done by then.

Been several times. Always so tickled to be there it didn't matter where the seats were. Usually right field side about halfway up. Been in the upper deck near the top between home and third. Three rows from the field down the left field line...even with the Cubs bullpen. Didn't matter. I never wanted to sit in the bleachers. We don't drink, and a rowdy crowd makes me uncomfortable.

I never considered the crowd in the bleachers. Thanks for mentioning that. I also hate a rowdy crowd and don't drink so the bleachers may be a bad choice especially considering I'll be decked out in reds gear.

After attending Pearl Jam concert in 400 section, that's where I'm going to try to sit for any Cubs games in future.

 

Essentially 400 is 7 or 8 rows before 500 section. There is a walkway between section 400 or 500.

 

I would say anything in 400 section and you are going to be good. You sit in lower level or even 500 level, you have to research make sure you aren't sitting behind a pole. :lol2:

 

Left field bleachers are scheduled to be opened in May, but that's general admission and since only partial bleacher seats will be available. I think tickets may be limited there.

I have never sat in the old outfield seats, but have never had a bad seat at Wrigley Field. I am sure there are some grandstand seats with a pole in the way of one's view, but they are all good in my mind.

 

Wrigley Field is a magical place and I would be happy sitting anywhere in this park.

We sat about five rows up behind the dugout. Awesome seats.

 

Could you imagine purchasing this seat?

 

I like just under the awning on the lover level and I actually love the view from the 400's on the 3rd base side

Bleachers are fun. Lots of Reds fans make the trip.

A lot of rooftop seats are now blocked by the jumbotron.

There are obstructed view seats at Wrigley. The ticket will say that on it. Do not get them even if you get them at a great price. You will not be able to see the game.

Incorrect. The main house blocked by the jumbotron is actually the one that had the advertisements on tarps for years. Only a couple of buildings along the left field line have their view obstructed.

I think if I ever go back twill be for a rooftop.

Ah I must have misunderstood. Thanks for clarifying! It's been a long while since I have been to Wrigley for a game. Would love to go back once they are actually finished with all of the renovations.
