You may be right, as I am not really old enough to confidently say I've seen the perception of sex "change." From what I've read and been told, it seems that it is now a more recreational activity than earlier times (pre-1970's).

 

I'd bet too that the increase of communication and technology has played a role in the expanded discussion of sex too.
