Anton Gill to transfer from Louisville

Featured Replies

Don't think so deuce.. Got some good kids coming one of them Mitchell will be a star. I'm hearing Indiana's PG will most likely be here with the addition of Lewis from Cleveland ST who scored 24 on us this past year. I think we see more running and pressing team next season. Johnson has a big upside and should be a very solid ACC player. Long year to me means NIT don't think that will happen.

So Blackshear is gone to graduation.

Harrell and Rozier are gone to the league.

Onuaku, Aaron, and Gill are potential transfers.

What does that leave the Cards with next season outside of Snider?

Jayln Johnson and Mahmoud have nice ceilings.

Mitchell, Adel, and Spalding.

Cleveland state guy and the juco guy look likely.

Maverick rowan possible reclassification to 2015, though unlikely.

Jaylen Johnson seemed to play very well in his brief appearances late this season. I liked his aggressiveness and hustle.

Will he play a bigger role next season?

Yogi Ferrell is going to transfer to Louisville? I'll believe that when I see it. Either way, he wouldn't be there next season anyways. He'd have to sit a season.

Yogi can graduate after this semester and can transfer without losing a year of playing time. Johnson coach got him at Indiana and has maintain a close relationship with the family. I could be wrong but it's what I'm hearing from a close friend is in the know.

And what about the Cleveland St. player sitting out? If he played this past season wouldn't he have to sit out next year?

Also, there are still some high profile uncommitted recruits. Does UL have a shot at any of them, especially if all these players leave and it opens up immediate obvious playing time?

The Cleveland State kid would be a graduate transfer and be eligible right away.

Who will Louisville have next year? Is it possible that they are not a tourney team?

Lots of things in flux, but I'll take a shot (not mentioning any recruits (b/c I haven't followed any of them) or potential transfers (b/c uncertain))

1 - Snider (pretty confident)

2 - ?

3 - ?

4 - Mahmoud (not thick enough to play the 5 and I like his footwork enough to play a huge defensive presence on the wing in that 2-3 zone. Will need to greatly improve his offense & bulk up, but he seems to have tremendous upside.)

5 - Mathiang (rebounding & defense are known; if he could add ANY offensive threat to his game, it would really open things up for the offense)

Johnson could play the 4 or move Mahmoud to the 5 when Mangok is out.

Of all the returning players I think 2 & 3 have the most potential

:lol2: Nice.

I think Q has a very bright future. Mahmoud has the raw potential, but will he ever develop it? I feel Mangok is going to be one of those players that never progresses much from where he is now. Hopefully I'm wrong.

So does Gill have to sit a year, even though granted a full release?

Earlier reports that Chinanu Onuaku would transfer are apparently mistaken as the C-J is now reporting that Nanu will remain at Louisville.

Yeah, I agree I think Snider can play. I was just being a donkey (other word got filtered)

So Nanu is short for Chinanu. That's why I was confused.
