Let the debate rage!

From the limited knowledge I have of all the players in the state, this list looks pretty good to me. I certainly did not feel the same way about last year's team.

what about penick?

Didn't make it apparently.

I think Owens should have made it based on skill. But if they decided not to pick him based on disiplinary actions, than I can understand.

Walt Allen South Laurel

Kevin Allen North Oldham

Brandon Bland

Robert Buckner Eastern

Vincent Crutcher PRP

Jay Ivey O Cath

Josh Mack Univeristy Heights

Leroy Nobles Lou Central

AJ Slaughter Shelby County

Forrest Smallwood Lou Male

Tyler Wilkerson Lafeyette

Deontay Wright

Two questions:

1) Did you attend the tryouts?

2) Who would you remove, and who would you put in that person's place?

:thumb: Yes I did attend on Saturday and would have made more then a few changes to the ones named but I don't wish to belittle any of the players selected. Just think a team with a little more representation from thru out the state could have been every bit as good as this one. Congrats to those selected and to all the players selected to tryout. That in itself is quite an honor.

Selecting a team "representative of the state" is ridiculous. You reward the best players, period. Why should a kid from Lexington or Louisville get punished or discriminated against so token players are added to the list.

Which players who did not make the team played well enough in your opinion to be on the team? I not interested in who you think they should replace, only the others who were close to making the final cut.

Agreed if they truly are the best players. Just my opinion but I believe you could pick 12 from the players not selected and be every bit as good as the team that will play Indiana. There were no "Token Players" their in my opinion. They can all play. I do think that Fothergill, Stallworth and Penick would have fit well on this team but I know I'll get heat for saying Penick but he played as well as any other big man on the day I was there. Owens is as good or better then any guard on the team but of course he is a head case and that is why he didn't make it. Regardless again congratulations to all the players selected and good luck against those dreaded Hoosiers.

Post players please???

Post players please???

It looks like they are looking for speed and 3 point shooters

Did Pat Elliott from Pendleton County try out?

no family vacation

Wow..4 Louisville Representatives 3 more within 40 miles of Louisville ( Shelby Cty., N.Oldham and John Hardin) and 2 from the Lexington area. So nine players basically from the 2 major metro areas in Ky and only one from east of I-75 (Walt Allen S Laurel) who was guaranteed a spot. The northern and eastern sections of the state went basically ignored.

Were they irgnored on the tryout list or just on the selected list? The selections were made by coaches from all over the state who are tired of being beaten and listening to their peers talk about Indiana. Looks like they figured the best way to compete with an Oden dominated inside was with quickness and shooting.
