"Ky. All-Star Team announced,"

Featured Replies

Were they irgnored on the tryout list or just on the selected list? The selections were made by coaches from all over the state who are tired of being beaten and listening to their peers talk about Indiana. Looks like they figured the best way to compete with an Oden dominated inside was with quickness and shooting.

 Who knows. You may be right. Good luck to the Ky team.

Post players please???

With Penick they would have gotten a 6'9' post player who can also play even better facing the basket. Handles the ball, runs the floor and passes even better all of which I thought IMO he showed at least on the day I was there but apparently they were looking for something or someone else.

It appears they needed the 3-point shooting and rebounding of 6'1" state sensation Kevin Allen. Its going to be hard to understand how they selected Allen over Ludlow's Penick.

Why call the kid out?

Did the big kid from Boyle Co. try out for the team?

Who is the coach?

Can we forfeit the game with Indy?:D

It's commone knowledge that the Indiana team is loaded and that Kentucky is not.....but you're right, I shouldn't have said that.

But I truly hope you aren't comparing what I said to what you typed.

8 of the 12 players are 6'4" and under....how does that compare with Indiana's roster?

Not good at all.

My statement was not meant to tilt against Allen, but to defend Penick. He should have made the team. Penick has height to defend the post, can run the court, play the perimeter, score in the post, has some range, decent handles, good court vision, can help throw over Indy's press, and offers versatility.

Did the big guy from MMI try out? I figured he would have made it.

MMI is not a member of the KHSAA so I don't believe he qualifies.

The big guy from MMI was on the invitee list. Saihou Jassy made the team last year, and he never played a game in Kentucky, so the MMI guy would appear to be just as "qualified" as Jassy.

Neither Enchandu nor Brown from MMI were invited. They were not declared eligible by the Foundations new rules. It would have been nice to have two big men. But I think that after last years experience with Jassy they wanted to make sure there weren't any gray areas.

Thanks for the correction, Beta. I was thinking about the Kentucky-Ohio game, in which at least one of the MMI guys played.
