That's also a lot of wins. Any national tournament that doesn't include them isn't a national tournament. I think there should be a 64-team USA high school tournament. Maybe even 128 teams.

Got to tell you, Owensboro has a nice team and I'm glad any time a KY team can get national attention...but they don't scream top 25 to me. But then again, I'm not the national high school basketball guru either.

Had a long talk with Rex Morgan of Arlington Country Day two years ago and there was discussion amongst the elite prep schools regarding forming a super conference. But it's all about the $. The ESPN tourney at the end of the year was an issue for those to commit simply from a monetary standpoint.

USA Today screams that they're #24 , and that's all I need to know. Keep in mind, many of those other schools are prep schools so it's a little unfair to compare OHS to them. Even some that aren't labeled as prep schools, operate in the same manner.

 

If OHS gets good guard play, they can match up with almost anyone outside of Oak Hill. It's the depth that would get OHS in trouble.

Yep. At this stage all that matters is the people at the USA Today thght OHS was worthy of a #24 ranking. 20 years from now folks will be able to look at the final rankings and see the Red Devils,from KY, up there with the best in the nation!

Neither did Trinity by the end of the year...some said after OHS lost in the kob they were vastly overrated..lol.

I'd say there wasn't much negativity then....Owensboro is used to this tho....the local media mainly the Messenger Inquirer, unless things have changed in the past few years...its like pulling teeth for Owensboro to get a good word in their own town newspaper..

The Messenger-Inquirer has been great to OHS this year. They've provided exceptional coverage of the state football runner ups and the state championship basketball teams. Jim Pickens is a local writing legend.mark Mathis is good too. Can't complain about the MI at all

I wasn't refering to this year..however now that I think of it the article about the Eldorado tournament win was so tiny it almost couldn't be found...lol..but as far as the negativity on here goes it just come with the territory
