March 6, 201511 yr Hmmm Biden has said enough stupid dumb idiotic things to be roasted every night or every weekend on SNL and Comedy Central but rarely gets the treatment . For that matter Hil has had her moments . But she doesn't get roasted for it .
March 6, 201511 yr Lets take it a step further. Trent Lott said something complementary about a Senator that at one time supported segregation, his political career was basically trashed. The media all but demanded his head on a spike. Robert Byrd was himself a member of the Ku Klux Klan and yet until his death was held in very high regard by the left and the media loved him.
March 6, 201511 yr When I read these accounts in thread after thread after thread about how unfairly Republican politicians are treated by the bully boys in the media ... I just want to cry.
March 6, 201511 yr How did they get a pass? They have been criticized for their stupidity when it occurred. Whether they apologize or not is irrelevant in getting a pass. Biden is not a viable candidate, hopeful maybe, viable no. Saw where he was the top pick after Hillary in polls of dems in the early voting states.

March 6, 201511 yr Then don't read them. Years ago I found a hotline to call when I couldn't sleep at night because "the lamestream media" was picking too much on Republican politicians for saying stupid things. I called 1-800-WAA-WAAA and my problems melted like lemon drops.
March 6, 201511 yr Your side is my side, lol. But, the one reason it makes the news more for the other side of the isle is some of them act and preach like they are saints and don't do anything wrong. Such as a few years ago the republican from Florida who was so against gay people, only to be exposed in a sex scandal with a male page. But as I said, it goes for both sides of the isle. I really want the republicans to find a viable candidate, but I think that would only be Bush, and I think that the country won't want three people from the same family being in the Whitehouse within about 25 years. The one reason stupidity makes the news more for the republicans is the overwhelming slant towards liberalism in the media and entertainment industries, plain and simple. For the most part I don't think it's intentional, they just can't help themselves and have no real desire for balance.

March 6, 201511 yr Author Another classic example of your adding to the dialogue, thanks for playing. I've now had my morning entertainment. Here's the way the dialogue goes in a political thread these days. "So-and-so did something stupid/illegal/immoral". Then, depending on whether the so-and-so has a "D" or an "R" after their name, "The nasty liberal media either made a huge deal out of it or swept it under the rug." "It wasn't as bad as what the other guy did." "If our guy had done it, you would have hit the ceiling."

March 6, 201511 yr Author To the original topic. Carson was never a major player in the first place, but this may have deep-sixed the remote chance that he had of becoming one.
March 6, 201511 yr Al Sharpton can say stupid stuff and doesn't even have to apologize to get a pass. Joe Biden is a veritable fountain of stupidity and yet he is still considered a viable presidential prospect. Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee, Alan Grayson I could probably think of more. Here I was thinking you were going to mention people who actually have stellar reputations. Nobody cares about any of those folks you mentioned. We all know who they are and what they are.
