Wednesday not looking good at this point,maybe Thursday as well, not as much for Mason County but for the Lexington-area schools. Does everything just back up a day till travel is safe?

All hell breaks loose tomorrow, ice to thunderstorms and wind, back to ice and significant snow and bonecracking cold on Thursday. May be looking at a Friday-Saturday start. Finalists may have to play 3 days in a row to get this tourney in on time.

Was thinking about this earlier today. Assume girls second round is complete on Tuesday. Storms hit Wednesday and Thursday. Do you still play girls semis on Friday, move their final to Sunday so you can play all first round games on Saturday?

Was a backup plan discussed at the draw meeting?? Anyone?

Girls have to be finished no later than Monday or Tuesday (absolute latest) of next week. Boys state games don't start until Wednesday, March 18. You do everything you can to get the girls in first.

If they can't play on Wednesday or Thursday, if it was up to me, I would still play the girls' semifinal on Friday night and move their championship game to Sunday afternoon. That would free up Saturday for a double session for the boys. Play the upper quarterfinal at Noon and 1:30 and play the lower bracket quarterfinal at 6:00 and 7:30.

Hopefully tomorrow's games can get in. No way anybody in the state plays Thursday from the updated forecast.
