I agree there is some responsibility on both parts but for me I know how I would do things if I was the official scorekeeper. We also have no idea how the conversation went between all three scorekeepers. The official scorekeeper was from the host school, Garrard County, so in all there were three books. I'm interested in knowing what Lincoln County's scorebook looked like and if they had the missing player in it.

Yes. Passed Keith Withrow who played at Lincoln in the late-90s/early-2000s. Quite an accomplishment for Conway.

We will have to agree to disagree because in my opinion any coach worth his weight understands the only book that matters is the official one. It's like when fans go crazy when the scoreboard is wrong for a couple of seconds, they don't seem to realize scoreboard is not official only the official book is. I just don't think Boyle has anyone to blame than themselves.

 

What is in the Lincoln book doesn't matter. If the Garrard official scorekeeper used the Lincoln book from last game then shame on him if he didn't have Boyle double check. But Boyle should always have a plan to double check no matter what.

When Lincoln played Boyle on January 17th h was honored for reaching 1,700 points "sometime over Christmas Break." They've played 12 games since. So I don't know any hard numbers but the math says 2,000-ish.

The scoring record at Lincoln was held by Emily Fox with 2022. Jacob surpassed that mark against Boyle Friday night. Quite an accomplishment for that young man.

The player that was missing from the Official book was in the Lincoln Co. book, from what I was told. The score keeper form Lincoln came and got Boyle's book and wrote it down. From all the years that I have been in Basketball and done the book and stats. The Official book keeper has always got the book form each team the night of that game and wrote the player down or check to ensure that it was right.

If a referee went to one of the schools playing in the game and even played basketball for that school, that should automatically knock him out of calling that game!! Period! It's obvious that ref hates Boyle. Look at the last game Boyle and Lincoln played at Boyle. Even tho the Rebels won he made numerous calls in Lincoln favor that made you scratch your head. Scott Bottoms needs to do a better job of assigning officals. Most Of ALL Mark Bryant just needs to hang up his whistle. Worst ref I have ever seen.
