Lincoln County 71 Boyle County 51 (45th District Championship)

I can't say for sure but probably. The radio station is covering it and the Advocate-Messenger typically covers it too. Give it a shot!

I may head over in the morning and see what happens.

I thought this was a terrible call personally:

WOW! That T was beyond ridiculous.

When he shakes his head no, that is when Coach Adams ask him if he counted the player in the book and then counted the player on the floor and Bryant said no. I know this because I was the guy at the Computer with not much hair.

That tickled me.

Rough night for my Rebels. Lincoln County threw a new defense on the Rebels tonight and that made a huge difference in the game. Congrats to Lincoln on becoming the back to back champions of the 45th District.

Time for the 12th Region tournament!!!!! Win or go home time!!!!!!

Was it the 1-2-2/3-2 I saw in one of the videos? I've seen Lincoln play a bunch this year and don't believe I've seen them out of the 2-3 unless they were forced to play man cause of time/score.

Started off as a box and one and morphed into a man and box and one throughout the game. Boyle spent their day at practice preparing to attack the vaunted Lincoln 2-3 zone. Never saw it and had a rough time adjusting to a defense they weren't prepared to face. Coach Adams mentioned that on our radio show after the game. Great strategy move on Coach Jackson's part for sure.

Interesting. I assume they manned up on Hagen Tyler?

Some would question whether this should have been saved for a potential region matchup which has validity. Though by winning the District, Lincoln has a 1/3 chance of being on Wayne's side of the bracket and Boyle a 2/3 chance. At least I believe so.

Yes. They started off with BJ Hoover on Hagen but he picked up two quick fouls and Hagen had 10 points in the first quarter. They then put Noah Young on him and he did a spectacular job guarding Hagen.

I was thinking the same thing. Did they show their hand too early? Maybe, maybe not. Both teams have to make the region final for that to become a valid question.

Am I wrong or do the Official's have to go to the book before a game and count the player in the book and then count them on the floor. Because that is what the first T was about. The Official book keeper wrote down the player that Boyle had used from the game on Wednesday. He did not use the book that Boyle had for the game tonight. T. Bell was sick on Wednesday and did not play so he was not in the book. He was in the book tonight but the Official book keeper did not get the book from Boyle. Not putting the blame on the book keeper but that was wrong. Then when they noticed it they called Bryant over to look at it. He said that it was a T because it was not in the Official book and that is right. But he also said that he did not count the player in the book or on the floor to match them like a Official is suppose to do before they sign the book. So that is the head Officials fault. I have known Mark Bryant for a while and know he is not a bad guy but this was by far his worst game that I have seen in a while from him. The young black headed guy just does not like Boyle. In the Danville game he only called 2 things on Danville and yes I was counting. He was not that far off tonight either. No I am not taking anything away from Lincoln because they played a great game and made Boyle look pretty bad tonight. You have to give credit to Jeff Jackson and his players. To me the story of the game was Brandon Pittman. That kid played a great game and was the story of the game.

You are referring to John McMillan. He's awful as well. I AM NOT saying th officiating dictated the outcome, because Boyle didn't play anywhere near good enough to win, but it was set it stone that they wouldn't.... Hell Mark Bryant can run a parks and Rec department, why should he run a district title game? John McMillan couldn't spell basketball when he rode the pine pony for Mark Upchurch and now 12-13 years later he's legit enough to get a district championship game that his alma mater is participating In? Is this Scott Bottoms screw up? Or is he just playing the cards Noel Hargis left him with?

The only ref that made some decent calls was the red headed one. The younger one that's too cool, and runs the floor like he has a corncobb up his rear is awful! The Mark Bryant guy, well he knows what he did. Sleepless night for him!

Why does one have to be a good player to be a good referee?

It seems like I always see the refs count the players on the floor during warmups and check and double check the books before games. Surprising this practice didn't take place tonight. Especially with a game of this magnitude.

Guys, a book issue is 1 million percent each teams fault.mit is their responsibility to get their players in correctly by the 10 minute mark. The officials may count number of players not actual number of jerseys. To blame anyone else but whose responsibility that is for Boyle is ludicrous.

So the official scorekeeper copies the Boyle lineup from the previous game without consulting with anyone and it is the Boyle scorekeeper's fault?

Without a doubt. Each team always has the responsibility to check their own book. I would be shocked if Coach Adams doesn't agree with that. I don't know of any coach who doesn't have someone in charge of doubling checking before the 10 minute mark, whether that is a coach or their scorekeeper.

I agree there is some responsibility on both parts but for me I know how I would do things if I was the official scorekeeper. We also have no idea how the conversation went between all three scorekeepers. The official scorekeeper was from the host school, Garrard County, so in all there were three books. I'm interested in knowing what Lincoln County's scorebook looked like and if they had the missing player in it.

We will have to agree to disagree because in my opinion any coach worth his weight understands the only book that matters is the official one. It's like when fans go crazy when the scoreboard is wrong for a couple of seconds, they don't seem to realize scoreboard is not official only the official book is. I just don't think Boyle has anyone to blame than themselves.

What is in the Lincoln book doesn't matter. If the Garrard official scorekeeper used the Lincoln book from last game then shame on him if he didn't have Boyle double check. But Boyle should always have a plan to double check no matter what.
