Tonight's Colonel team is the team I saw beat Wilmington. We see this team next week and they are going to be tough to beat.

Bolden played at least 25 minutes. I think his hand injury suffered against HC Wednesday night played a factor. Wrapped up pretty good.

My team had a bad night from the field, luckily their defense played great. Get the bad game out of ya, and like you said, it's a new slate.

When CovCath shoots the ball like they did they are going to be tough to beat.

They played well and hit open shots.

Holmes got down in the first quarter and had an uphill climb the rest of the night. They missed a bunch of free throws in the first half and CovCath hit their free throws and got to the front and stayed there.

I thought the VonHandorf looked much more assertive on offense than I have seen him in the past. Really solid scorer going to the basket on the left hand side.

Flood hit a couple early threes that got the Colonels going and they did a really good job on the boards.

On offense, Holmes missed a couple chippies and couldn't get a perimeter shot to fall.

CovCath played a lot of zone and went away from their faceguard deny of Bolden which had become the norm for them when they played Holmes.

CovCath did a much better job than Holmes in transition and converting while Holmes had some miscues pile up on their end.

The game got really chippy and physical particularly in the second half as Holmes started scrambling trying to force some turnovers.

I don't think there was anything real dirty just two teams competing and wearing their emotions on their sleeves. A lot of bodies colliding, reaching, woofing, grabbing, swinging elbows, a forearm or two above the shoulders on drives.

CovCath is the better team and their depth is a weapon.

It was a little chippy out there tonight.

 

It's CovCath vs Holmes, been that way for YEARS.

Think he's a very good coach but just wondering if Coach L is the right fit at Holmes. Not saying he should be judged by this game. Just thinking out loud.

Foul trouble all night. 3 fouls in 1st half, fouled out with just under 6 left.

 

Hard to get in a rhythm when you're sitting on the bench all night. Picked up 2 cheap fouls on what should've been offensive fouls on CCH.

 

How did the refs miss the calls? Were they out of position to make the correct call?

Offensivev player lowered shoulder and extended elbow to create separation. Bolden falls and instead of calling offensive foul, they call a block. (Ipersonally say no call and let them play) Not sure what Sandlin has against Holmes but he has called a terrible game, particularly against Bolden, anytime he has had them. Reineke and the other guy were pretty solid all night.

 

Channel 12 and Maxpreps photographers pointed the above out to me as well, FWIW.
