I would not be surprised if 1 of 6 won it: CCH, NCC, Holmes, Dixe, Boone Co., Cooper

Well I don't have a dog in this fight, but a few years ago Holy Cross won the All A state title, and didn't make the regional thats a bummer for those kids. I think they could have made some noise in the regional tournament. Now as far as moving Louisville schools out of the region, no. However, I do think re-districting every few years is beneficial.

 

So, Holy Cross doesn't make the regional after winning the All A and we have to realign? That's punishment to all schools involved, IMO. If they can win the All A, but not their district, that just tells me that their district was more challenging, and if this is the case, they probably wouldn't have done much in the 9th region tournament. I Agree with the previous poster... If you move HC or CCH out, then, IMO, St. Henry becomes the new Holy Cross, or in years where St. Henry is "up," HC remains in the same position. Over the last few years, Dixie has been as dominant in their district as Holmes or CCH have been in theirs.

Mullins and McClendon are top 10 players next year.

 

Commodore is ARGUABLY the best player in nky for that freshman class.

 

Arnold is going to be too physically strong for virtually every "4" in nky next year.

 

And Moore/Greene give Holmes two 6'5 kids who can stretch the floor at the 5 position.

 

Englemon and Daniels have shown they can play at the varsity level and produce when given an opportunity. What don't you see? That's 7 contributors next year, not including current frosh/sophs, when most of the rest of the region will be down. I like Ryan Schrand but HC isn't getting by Holmes or Covcath next year. The year after, when Holmes loses a lot, I could see it happening.

To be honest they could be, I just haven't followed the 9th this year as close as I have in years past.

Tough loss for HC but good to see the improvements this year.

 

Regardless of how you slice it, the 35th is brutal. I remember in 2007 CCH, Holmes and HC were 1-3 in the region. In 2009 in baseball, CCH was ranked #1 in the state, HC was All-A State runner up's and Beechwood won the region. And as mentioned on here a HC team that won the All-A in 2012 couldn't get out of the district.

Agreed. If LJ Miller can bulk up and grow a couple inches over the summer I think he will be a contributor as well. He kinda reminds me of beetle when he was a frosh, not quite as good but similar builds and Miller can flat out stroke it. I'm also intrigued by Deandre McCann, I think that's him. Looks to be about 6' 4" at least and seems pretty raw in terms of basketball talent but seemed pretty coordinated the couple times I seen him. Definitely looking forward to seeing Holmes next year, they will have the best guards in region and I nice mix of size that they haven't had in a while.

LJ is definitely intriguing. I liked what I saw from him in the few JV games I saw him and the frosh region tournament game. If he gets Shanece and Emma's height and build, he'll be ok.

I havent seen McCann too much but I have watched pretty many Holmes games over the years and he reminds a bit of Marcus Hill. If I remeber right Marcus was a project that developed into one of the better bigs Holmes has had in recent years. I could be completely wrong. McCann definitely has an intriguing build. How big are LJ's relatives that you speak of? He could be a big time player if he can sprout up and mature.
