Will Dixie have a scoreboard at their new baseball complex? Trying to keep track of the count, outs, score and innings, while also trying to enjoy oneself while talking to some of the others at the game, while not impossible, does take some of the fun as a fan out of the game. Tell your announcer, that he did a fine job, but in the future could he remember to announce the score and ining at the end of each teams at bat.

I guess the old scoreboard isn't working?

The new field will have a scoreboard. It should also contend with St. Henry for the nicest HS field in NKY. Rumor has it that the infield may be turf with the outfield being natural grass. Also, there won't be any soccer practice in the outfield in the fall.

I saw the architects drawing posted in the lobby by the gym and man it looks like it will be the complex of all complexes....if its anything like the drawings that will be something Dixie will be very proud of.....sweet:ylsuper:

When is the new field supposed to be ready?

I don't know their plan of attack. The football stadium will be ready for next season. I don't know if they plan to work on the baseball field simultaneously, or wait one more year.

It does look to be a very nice complex, but only time will tell. It'll be all about the upkeep. They have the personnel in place right now that will help keep everything top notch. I've heard they are trying to acquire the land that is currently occupied by the two remaining buildings off of Kenton Lands Road to add a soccer field/stadium.

They have already torn down the stands to the football field. They are also tearing up the parking lot where the new baseball field will be. If the football field is supposed to be ready for football season (Aug/Sep this year), I would guess that they should have no problem getting the baseball field ready by Mar/Apr of next year

So they're tearing up the front parking lot of the old BOE building? Have they torn up the back parking lot where the practice field will be? I would also guess it'd be ready, but I wouldn't put anything past the BOE. Do you know if they're putting turf down on the infield of the baseball field? I heard this from a couple players a few years ago. With the equipment there for the football field, it'd make sense to do the baseball field at the same time.

Why in heavens name is CovCath still #1? where is the logic in this? The public needs to know.

They beat the other 2 of top 3 teams in the region this past 10 days or so. That's why. They will not be #1 this week however. It's still early so rankings mean little at this point. People invest too much stock in them right now. They become accurate about 5 or 6 weeks in when everyone plays a range of teams.

IMO it's too early to worry about rankings...Dixie has been up and down this year so it's tough to rank them because they have the potential to beat good teams like COvcath but then go out and get run ruled by Boone...all depends on which Dixie team shows up

Dixie did indeed beat CCH twice last weekend, but Tierney did not play against all weekend because he was resting a injury.

What was wrong with Tierney? I know he played against Holmes on Monday and looked solid...that was only 2 days after the losses to Dixie.

He's got an unusual 'knot' where he strained/pulled a muscle in leg...the pain comes and goes...they just can't seem to get it to 100%...He was in lots of pain vs Dixie that's why he sat...felt 80% or so for Holmes and the others this week....it's kinda day by day....

Josh Bleser sat out too because he was having an MRI done.

Not making excuses here are we?
