Does anyone else cringe when.....

Featured Replies

I wonder what everyone here thinks the problem is? Why is ISIS doing the things its doing? What does ISIS hope to gain?

How does that tie in with PP92's original question? Does what ISIS is doing give Christians a pass on not treating Muslims with Christian love?

While there are isolated cases of " mistrust and hatred" my opinion is our country has welcomed Muslims and all others happily for decades and decades . To say that mistrust and hatred of Muslims in the USA is too abundant is entirely wrong and doesnt paint a picture of the real situation. Is there more distrust and hatred of Muslims VS blacks in our country ? Sadly , and WRONGLY , some degrees of racism will always be around . But I dont believe for a second that there is gross mistreatment of Muslims in our country .

Here is PP92's original post.

You see or hear someone saying something derogatory about Muslims?

I ask because I see more and more God-fearing Christians openly proclaiming their hate for Muslims and more specifically the most famous Muslim, President Obama.

I get that he is one of the worst Presidents ever but when I see people I know that claim to be Christians openly hating him because he is a Muslim makes me cringe. Isn't this kind of speech hateful and inciteful? Sadly it seems to be acceptable also as a Muslim hating Facebook status will get you 40+ likes within an hour.

Isn't this a dangerous thought process that should be nipped in the bud or am I overreacting?

Do the terrible actions of any Muslim extremists give Christians the right to act un-Christian to other Muslims?

Christians dont have any rights to treat anyone Un Christian . Is that a loaded question of some form ? Here is mass hatred and distrust that just isnt found in America : Jewish journalist gets hate on videotape as he strolls streets of Paris | Fox News

So you agree with PP92's sentiment that it's wrong when people make general derogatory comments about Muslims?

As everyone here has clearly stated over and over and over .. Obama isnt disliked ( my most) because he is black , or because he muddies up the water on issues of his faith , he's disliked because he's a terrible leader and acts like an arrogant brat when he doesnt get the legislation he wants and is willing to trample anyone or even the constitution to get what he wants .

Sure do . You agree that it was terribly offensive for Obama to skip mentioning that the Egyptians were not at all killed for being from Egypt but were killed because they are Christian ?

Don't know anything about that situation, but don't really care what he said. Not sure why our President needs to be commenting on terror issues in other countries. I think we've got more than enough issues to worry about concerning American citizens for him to spend time worrying about that. JMO.

You should know its their goal to duplicate that act on the shores of the USA . Not to be a jerk but if we all thought like that we would have multiple 9-11 type mass killings on a routine basis .

No we wouldn't. That's just fear-mongering. We need to worry about what's going on in our country, and to our citizens here and abroad, before we interject ourselves into what's happening in other countries and to their citizens. Protect ourselves and make sure things like 9/11 don't happen here again. Commenting on what happened in Egypt is not going to impact one way or another what the extremists do.

Its common knowledge from the news sources I use that ISIS doesnt wish to stay in their geographical area . They have made public claims about invading Spain and Italy .

I appreciate some degree of isolationalist type thinking but that's farther than I wish to go .

We aren't the world's police. We need to protect ourselves, and we have a few key allies that we should help out, but other than that, no need to get involved.
