Would the worst season in school history..

Two 16th Region teams (Ashland & Greenup Co) who are obviously not happy with their coaching situations - Biggs at Ashland & Tackett at Greenup Co. Let's play a game and assume they swap / switch schools - Biggs to Greenup Co & Tackett to Ashland....

Which school is happy with that switch and which school is not happy with that switch?

GC would get better and Ashland would continue a downward spiral . That's my take .

Ok, you guys win. The reason I thought about this thread is because of Ashlands recent issues. But I didn't start it solely for Ashland, or to bash coach Biggs.

I am really curious what it takes for a coach to get fired from a traditionally rich school, while not meeting the expectations the program and fans have. What would it take to get a coach fire from any of the traditional powers in the state?

Just curious. I know in football the traditional powers woukd put up with none of the above. What makes basketball different?

Would zero regional championships do it over a 10 year period? A 5 win season or less season? Athletes that play for a year or less and never return? Every other sport in said school succeding, but true athletes from the other sports not wanting to play basketball.

Leon Hart was 2-9 one year.

I dont think the issue to resolve is hair and water breaks. This issue is the stance on multi-sport athletes. I think there has to be some understanding of what a kid's goals are after high school and what is best for the student. If there are athletes with opportunities in other sports that can help the basketball team they dont play because they are criticised for not making basketball priority #1. Building or maintaining a program is different from building a resume'.

I`ll take Biggs at Greenup, how about we start now. How about Biggs to Greenup, and Tackett just goes away.. I don't feel right with Ashland getting him.. That's just mean. Ashland gets a coach to be named later.

That GRC fan sure knows alot about Greenup, Ashland, Russell for being a self proclaimed 10th and 11th connoisseur.

Now that's a different matter. I wish someone had lead with that. Still don't think it's a fire-able offense, but it's definitely a legitimate complaint. A conversation should be had between Coach Biggs and the AD about how Ashland regards multi-sport athletes. However I still believe that a good portion of the criticism he receives from the Ashland community is unfounded and likely coming from those with no business making it.

Mike Flynn would chuckle at this comment.

That must make you an expert on the current situations in the 16th region.. Thanks for that, it gave me a good laugh before bedtime.

It does make me an old man with many contacts.

Keep your tools away from me, please. I do not take kindly to posters with a sharp axe.
