Good information. What I don't understand (or at least is not prevalent) is why several players from KY do not consider going the JC route to gain 1. another 1-2 seasons of development 2. additional exposure since our State (at least not NKY) is not heavily recruited for football. There are some great advantages if players are open to leaving the area for a shot at getting recruited by a bigger school later. The Big 12, Pac 10, Mountain West, Big Sky and other mid-large conferences are heavy recruiters of JC players.

 

Many times people think of JC players as having poor grades and "have to" go to these types of schools when in many (if not most) have satisfactory, if not great grades but just need that additional exposure. Kansas and California JC's have some great schools that have a strong track record of placing players at D1 and D2 schools. At the end of the day the D3 and NAIA schools are going to be there if things don't work out in terms of getting that prized D1 offer. Just something to consider but the bottom line is I give kudos to ANY player pursuing is dream to continue playing football at ANY level.

 

Pursuing a dream is a great thing but at what cost. It makes more since to just go to NKY and save 10 of thousands of dollars.
