First time since 2005 no SEC rep in the title game, heck of a run.

Great day to be a Buckeye!

And that game was one of the best football games I've ever seen in my life. Hopefully our title game this year is in that same vein...

The whole "conference affiliation thing" is interesting to me.

A. Do you want your fellow conference schools to have success because that makes your team look good?

2. Do you want your fellow conference schools to fail because it could result in your team getting better players in the future?

D. Does conference allegiance carry over to other sports?

Let's also remember that the prior system favored the SEC. The "hype machine" almost required that an SEC team be in the BCS game. In the 1st year where the "hype machine" only got you to the semifinals, there is no SEC team. Admittedly it is a small sample size, but it will be interesting to see how many times over the NEXT 10 yrs. there is no SEC team in the title game.

Congrats to Ohio State. With as excited some of the OSU fans are about beating an SEC team, you would think they're just as surprised as the SEC homers.

Enjoy the victory but there is still work to be done.

Good point.

One year doesn't mean very much, but being objective about it, there has been a lot of talk this season about the SEC being down this year from the standpoint of not having the dominat team at the top as they do most years. In the last decade or so if ever there was a year for the SEC to fall out of the title games this was it. I'm not real surprised by the outcome.

Or

5. My favorite school is the doormat in a conference and the only way I get to talk and football smack is to talk conference smack.

You may be onto something here.
