January 2, 201511 yr Author The two teams are almost equal stat-wise at the half. Oregon has 13 more yards, 21 more through the air, while FSU has 8 more on the ground. Just the one late turnover by Mariota is the only one by either team. So 100% the story is the red zone efficiency. Oregon scored on all three of theirs, two of them TDs. FSU scored on three of their four, but just one was a TD. And of course, the one with no points was a clutch goal line stand on an option play where Oregon got the tackle at the half yard line. Now comes the second half adjustments.

January 2, 201511 yr Author Though it has felt like FSU is always trailing with the way they have played this year, this is actually their first halftime deficit since the Miami game back in mid-November. In halftime deficits, they trailed Miami by 13, Louisville by 14, Notre Dame by 7, NC State by 3, and Clemson by 7. Reaching back to last year, they trailed Auburn by 11 at the half. So it's a familiar spot. But certainly Oregon is the best team they've trailed at the half since (and maybe including) that Auburn game.
