The Valley gym is simply beautiful but the location is ridiculous.

And Trinity's first game could be X, after a Ballard game. Parking already SUCKS at Valley. This will be hideous.

 

I can live with the drive but the parking situation has to be addressed.

Or the director of athletics for Jefferson County lives close to Valley and it's very convenient for him.

Quit whining about Valley its a great venue. They improve it every year. The gym is nice and plenty of locker room space. The locker rooms at the Gardens smelled like Urine. Parking was terrible at The Gardens and Bellarmine. You would lose money at Freedom hall with the rent plus the $8 parking. The Gardens charged as much as $5 for parking. What is convenient? It took forever to get through traffic at Bellarmine and finding a place to park downtown. Valley has added new parking in the back. As for the system that selects and seeds the team its not perfect but neither was the LIT ratings that seeded the teams. The top 4 seeds are correct. Maybe not in the right order but correct. Your not going to make everyone happy so just show up and play. Usually the best teams win.

I'm sure the 8:15 pm game on 1/12/15 will have attendance issues with NCAA football National Championship on tv at same time....

Also, the semi-finals, which could be two great games, will start at Valley at 10:00 a.m. the same day (Saturday, Jan. 17) U of L is playing Duke at the Yum Center at noon.

At this point, I'm more upset that the semifinals are going to bump up against the UofL-Duke game that Saturday at noon. :lol2:

The only folks around here more difficult to deal with than administrators at JCPS are the Kentucky State Fair Board that still run Freedom Hall. The event is bound to lose money trying to rent that place out.

 

I'm curious to see what Broadbent Arena looks like this weekend for the Trinity/St. X game. I haven't been in there since the Riverfrogs ice hockey team moved out of town and if it works for that game, I could easily favor it being moved to a building of that size that's much more centralized.

Trinity and Ballard are likely to meet in the early semifinal 10 am Saturday morning at a place that's about an hour away from either school. I'd like it to be more centralized for that reason, but the gym is nice and the price is right.
