I suppose that could be part of the bad start then. Did Ashland just have a ton of seniors last season, or did several of them decide not to play this year?

Lost 4 starters and 6th man. Obviously there are kids who could help that don't play but most of them haven't played since middle school so they didn't just recently quit. The reality is the sophomore and freshmen classes are relatively thin with talent so this could be the beginning of a 3 year struggle.

I was told that Thornton could possibly return for his senior year which would be a huge boost but not enough to make them a contender

Your right, that's a lot to lose, its odd that 5 of their top 6 players were seniors, which is not normal to my knowledge. However the part about kids that are talented but haven't played since middle school, falls in to my line of thinking that a lot of these kids don't want to play for Buddy

Just to update Boyd beat East in double OT.

Maybe Ashland has a chance tonight then.

Sounds more like it. Biggs sure is rewriting the history books.

Are they 0-12 now? They are headed for the wrong kind of 20

0-12 0-13, something like that. I've lost count.

I believe Adam Howard is looking for a job.. hint hint, Mr. Swift.

Only sure wins are Rose Hill

4 seniors and a transfer

Adam Howard will make someone a fine coach.

I think Biggs would tell you that ultimately the buck stops with him but circumstances outside of his control have cost him two pretty good players and in this region that's the difference between being a contender and 0-12.

I can agree with that part of your post. I also agree that Biggs would own up to his end of it, rather than placing blame elsewhere. I don't dislike the guy one bit, he seems to be a great person. Unfortunetly that doesn't win games or championships.

As far as being 0-12 because they lost a couple of their top players, I just don't buy that, not at Ashland. Prior to Biggs arrival even a down years were known to produce regional championships. Since he has been in Ashland I don't believe they have won a single one.

Did Howard play at Ashland?
