December 23, 201411 yr That Jeremy Hill has to be the featured back (22-28) carries a game, instead of splitting the carries evenly with Bernard? Yes, Hill does need to work on ball security, especially in the redzone, but what say you guru, are you ready to admit he is a stud, and needs to get the majority of carries for the Bengals to be successful?
December 23, 201411 yr Author I kind of thought we already put this one to rest. Hill is #1 back. Perhaps he did, and I missed it. I thought he was still calling for split carries among the two.
December 23, 201411 yr Not sure what Ru had to say recently. Can't believe anyone would be calling for split workload.
December 23, 201411 yr I'm all for using Hill and Bernard equally. When Bernard gets his flow going he's about as tough and anyone RB can be. I love seeing him do his thing. Use them both to have more options, and neither one gets worn out. Don't know why it would even be cause for debate. If you got'em,... use'em
December 23, 201411 yr The only thing theguru should admit is that he should have taken raingear like ol' doc advised yesterday. :lol2: I'm happy for him and all of the Bengal fans though. Hope you get stomped next weekend, but wouldn't be surprised if you do the stomping either.

December 23, 201411 yr Nothing worse than being stuck at a football game in the rain...without rain gear. I'm certain that with the outcome, he likely forgot it was raining.:lol2:

When Bernard was getting the majority of the carries early in the year the Bengals run offense was ranked in the 20s. When Bernard got hurt and Hill took over the run game took off. When Bernard got healthy and they split carries the run game started to stall again. Last week the Bengals decide that Hill will get the majority of the carries and the run game has taken off again. Dont let the highlight reel plays that Bernard can do on occasion cloud your judgment. This team has shown they are better with Hill being the one getting the majority of the touches. Hill is a complete back. He has shown he can run for power. Catch the ball, make people miss and break long touchdown runs. The way they are using Bernard now is also best for him. Let him work in space while Hill is the main ball carrier.

Use everything you have in your bag of tricks. They're both a powerful force. They both can get it done. They both need to be used... a lot. I've seen what Bernard is capable of, and I am sold.

He was the one getting the majority of the carries to start the season, and the Bengals averaged 2.6 yards per carry. Were you sold on how things looked when they were splitting carries before last week? The running game stalled again, because neither of them could get into a flow as you say. However to start the year when Bernard had a chance to get into the flow, he didn't do much with it. Hill when given a chance to get into the flow of the game has. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love Bernard and glad we have him. However how we used him last year was perfect, and how we have used him the last two weeks has been perfect. However Hill needs to be the main running back. I would like to see them use Bernard more with Hill in at the same time though.
December 23, 201411 yr LRCW, my beef to begin with was Jackson was playing favorites with Gio and not playing Hill enough until he got Gio banged up. I wanted to split carries and let the chips fall where they may. Now that the chips have fallen, Hill has presented as a top 5 RB in the NFL. There is no question Hill is our starting RB and Gio is a nice third down/change of pace back.
December 23, 201411 yr I think Bernard should be more than a 3rd down back. I would like to see him get at least 10 carries a game. If he is effective, he gets a few more. Get Hill 20 carries, Gio 10 and Dalton/others 5 carries.
