Do you send them?

 

It seems like it is a dying tradition.

 

We always send them out, but this may be the first year we don't. Lots of life distractions this year and we haven't gotten around to it.

We give them out to each family at church but rarely mail any out. Each year we mean to, but we never seem to have time to.

It's definitely a dying tradition. I have not sent cards out in at least 4 years but I do appreciate the ones I receive!

I guess because of the wedding (everyone had our address) we got a bunch. Mrs. Plantmanky went out and but some cards to send back to people that sent us one. I could care less.

We send out a few. Small family.

Facebook and other social media has ruined the Christmas Card tradition. We still take a family photo and send ours out but in the last five years we have went from getting around 30 to getting about 5. I also use to get about 5 Christmas letters and haven't gotten any in about two years.

I spent a nice amount of money on Christmas Cards this year. I want to keep in touch with all the people in my life I never see.

 

Unfortunately, time got away from me, and it's now 12/22 and I haven't sent the first one out.

Me too. But I know how it makes me feel like I really matter when I receive a card in the mail. I want the people I care about to have that same feeling.

I still send them. I don't see myself discontinuing the tradition any time soon.

Anybody get Christmas cards with those "family updates" where each person in the family writes a paragraph on what they've been doing with the last year of their life? Those things always seem to make everyone come off so self-absorbed and braggy.

 

We sent out a handful of Christmas cards this year...maybe 15 in total. Instead of including a letter listing all of our accomplishments, we sent out a very tongue and cheek letter of all our failures and shortcomings in 2014. It seems to have given everyone who got one a pretty good laugh.

We send them out to a decent sized group of friends and family, and receive about the same. We hang them all over our cabinets in the kitchen, then when we host both families on Christmas Day, our relatives like to meander the kitchen commenting on "all of the nice friends we have with their beautiful children". Sounds corny...but a part of the Holiday that I strangely look forward to. Sometimes when others tell you what you already know ("all of our nice friends") it serves as a great reminder.
