If state championships were won equal to every time I have heard about a "stacked" or loaded class, then we should all get in the trophy making business. Just about everyone is going to be a state champ.
Wish I could "like" this post multiple times.

I think the Lady Pioneers have a great shot of winning state.

That is a very strong statement. But the lady pioneers are starting put things together. They played very good defense against Central to win the South Oldham tournament. Even though one of there starters came back from an injury. It was like she was never gone. Simon Kenton needs to keep pushing hard for any run at state. But as of right now they are the best team in the 8th Region. I don't know since I havent seen Holy Cross or Highlands play yet but to me it seems like SK is the best team in northern kentucky.

Well fortunately for you, you'll get to see them in back to back games in the last two games of the regular season. Unfortunately (or fortunately...however you want to look at it) for you, you don't get to experience Holmes, who is just as good as the other two.

Regarding that last sentence.......

The overconfidence effect is a well-established bias in which a person's subjective confidence in his or her judgments is reliably greater than the objective accuracy of those judgments, especially when confidence is relatively high.

15-4 vs region 9 teams the last two years leads to confidence. That being said, " being best in NKy" is meaningless. District, regional and state titles are the prizes, not local bragging rights.

So is 15-4 against 9th region teams in the last two years because all those impact kids graduated.

At Simon Kenton, we don't rebuild, we reload! We have a very fertile feeder system that continues to produce in abundance. We have D1 experienced coaches that are levels above most coaching HS ball in this area.

Do you think your squad will be 8-0 this time next year when this class graduates? I don't think so!

Probably since we only lose 2 of our top 8 and have the best player that ever played in KY leading us as a coach! And yes, she played D1!

And thats without getting any transfers.

Coffey, Leigh, Adler are jrs

Clucky is a sophomore and Barth is an 8th grader. Plus a very strong 8th grade class become freshman next year!! We'll be just fine!

That means nothing. Coach Stowers and his staff do an excellent job, but D1 coaching experience has zero to do with it. Did D1 coaching cause the biggest meltdown in the history of 8th Region finals 2 years ago? Your unfounded arrogance on this subject is a little overboard.

Ya know, the more I thought about the "reload" comment, I have to ask...Isn't "reload" typically used by programs that have multiple championships??....You know, like Highlands football?? "Reload" insinuates you have something that dictates you are winning something every year and just "reloading" after graduation. If their are no success stories, how are they "reloading". What are they reloading for? Am I missing something?

And it's funny, you are trying to make it sound like SK is above HHS when it comes to girl"s bball. Surely you saw the record I posted in the other thread. Seemed pretty even over the last 6-7 years. So our little school must "reload" too!!! I didn't even realize it! And I don't think you really want me to go back much further than I did because I took a peek and it didn't look good for SK in the late 90's and early 2000's.

It's amazing HHS can even take the floor with a school the size of SK. How could SK not reload every year??? I have my thoughts on that.

And you never got back to me on the last post...you didn't realize that 3/4 of HHS' top 8 were underclassman, did ya? With a couple really nice freshman and a very strong 8th and a nice 7th grade class on the way!!!

There are at least 3 programs in NKy alone that are significantly stronger than SK at this moment. HHS, Holmes and Holy Cross have talented, experienced and deep teams.

Agree whole heartedly but I do not understand why SK wont schedule or play the Lady dogs.

I am afraid you are serious??? If so, I have no comment.

If you are joking or trying to stir the pot, I get it.

I have heard through the grapevine that Coach Stowers tried to get them schedule and HHS didn't reply back.

Must be a bad phone line between Independence and Ft Thomas...I distinctly recall hearing of this technical difficulty before...hello, hello....are we reaching ?

Getting to state I agree 100%, winning state 0% and if they were in the ninth region I would say 25% chance of even making it to state.
