December 20, 201411 yr It was a good game & hard fought, but I just look at UL's road schedule in the ACC: North Carolina Pittsburgh Miami Virginia Syracuse Georgia Tech In addition to that, you've got home games like UK, Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Miami. I just think they'll have enough tests in conference to schedule a road game like this. I get what what your saying, but a lot of those teams aren't world beaters. I understand the ACC is brutal at times. But what better way to prepare for that by playing quality opponents OOC? WKU isn't Kansas, Arizona, or UConn. But they do provide a competitive team, which helps them prepare for their conference schedule. To drop that game and schedule a nobody would be a mistake, imo.
December 20, 201411 yr It's pretty easy to find on Twitter. I watched the clip a few times. Clearly swung at a Western player. Not sure how it lead up to that though. But he not only swung at him but he also through the first punch. But it wasn't a huge swing. I wouldn't be surprised if we was suspended. But it shouldn't be a long suspension.
December 20, 201411 yr To drop that game and schedule a nobody would be a mistake, imo. I'm not saying I would drop WKU. But I wouldn't go to their place.
December 20, 201411 yr I'm not saying I would drop WKU. But I wouldn't go to their place. They currently so a hybrid 2 for 1. They go to Diddle one time and play at the Yum twice. The other game is played in Nashville.
December 20, 201411 yr I'm not saying I would drop WKU. But I wouldn't go to their place. I could agree with that. As long as you don't have to give them a lot of extra money. The Yum center needs all the money it can get.
December 20, 201411 yr The reason you don't play this game at WKU - UL don't get anything $$$- play in a bigger arena they make money. It is same reason UK played them in Nashville for football.
December 21, 201411 yr The reason you don't play this game at WKU - UL don't get anything $$$- play in a bigger arena they make money. It is same reason UK played them in Nashville for football. UK played in a bigger stadium so more people could watch them get beat by lowly WKU.
December 21, 201411 yr UK played in a bigger stadium so more people could watch them get beat by lowly WKU. They also split the gate.
December 21, 201411 yr #51 for WKU was lucky he wasn't tossed for leaving the bench. I'll be curious to see if the conference does anything. He technically left the bench but , to be fair, he didn't get anywhere near the scrum. He is Chris Harrison's son.
December 21, 201411 yr #51 for WKU was lucky he wasn't tossed for leaving the bench. Several UL players left the bench when the t's were called on the coaches.. Does that count?
December 22, 201411 yr WKU played scrappy & #2 had a "coming out party" from behind the arc. UofL played without Trez for an extended period, struggled and won. Mahmoud got extended minutes and showed flashes of both brilliance and rawness. Rozier stepped up and hit the tough shots. Jones & Blackshear disappeared. Less concerned about Jones. Blackshear is an enigma. If he can't consistently hit the baseline 3 (which he hasn't this year) where Kuric & Hancock thrived, UofL's halfcourt offense is terrible. If you can't force that wing man to play out there on a shooter, you can't open the middle for Rozier and Jones to drive and for Trez to operate. Suspect Pitino would have liked a bigger margin to get Aaron some minutes. Didn't happen. Also, where was Johnson? Injured? When Trez went out, expected to see him. Mahmoud played a ton of minutes. Onuaku must control fouls or his minutes will continue to suffer.
December 22, 201411 yr Murray State beat WKU by 12, UL beats them by 9. MSU is at least 3 points better than UL. Must be the case! I will reiterate, I think the ejection was a good thing for UL to help build character.
