No one is going to take my guns, PERIOD! But we need to enforce the laws on the books, I would not be apposed to better laws concerning gun shows. But as has been said many times, more has to be done with the mental health issues in the country.

I think that the Republican side of the aisle is MUCH more conservative that they used to be. Presidents Nixon and Reagan would be centrists (if not left-leaners) in today's political landscape.

Nixon I agree with you, Tea Partiers tend to critize him quite a bit for some of his moderate policies. Now Reagan, I don't see him be a centrist and certainly not a left leaner which is why so many Tea Partiers like Mark Levin cannot stop drooling all over his legacy.

There we can agree, but the left is no different. Dems of the past (Kennedy and further back) would be considered right leaning compared to the Dems of today. There is no way you can view the left of today as the left of years ago.

Sounds like an even tradeoff to me. So why is the nation more liberal now than any other time in history?

I said it leans more and more left all the time.

Obamacare, the hatefulness of big business, legalized marijuana, the nanny-state, the "climate change" garbage and how it's forced down our throats and the view of those that oppose as being stupid and flat-earthers, the false notion that there is a GOP war on women, raising taxes, minimum wage demands that are absurd, gay marriage, path to citizenship, demonizing smokers. These are just a few off the top of my head.

Totally correct RTS. Can you imagine a prominent democrat saying now, "ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country"???

Oh heck no! Now it's "what are you going to do to take care of me?", "what do I get for free?" because that's how today's prominent Democrat gets their hooks in people.
