- Expect Belfry to be strong again. The Pirates defensively will be very stout led by that Front 5 featuring Horton and Bentley. Offensively Belfry has a very strong core back on the Line and talent in the backfield, but must replace Hatfield and Taylor their two top threats.

 

- Central will be experienced and much improved. 8 Starters return each way from a team who hit their stride in November. Central's biggest challenge will be finding a feature back with the graduation of Beason. I expect Central to be much tougher in 2015.

 

- Bell County should be solid. Bell returns some quality players and will have a good line. Collett will be under Center for another year and the Humfleet kid will be a strong. The Murray kid is a monster up front on the Line. Losing Green and Caldwell will hurt though.

 

- Russell will be better. The Devils made a nice run to the Semi-Finals with a pretty young team. McKee and Conley both return after 1000 yard rushing seasons. Russell's biggest task is replacing the workload of Bronson Korzep at RB and LB, as well as their other solid LB in Landon Arnold.

 

- Corbin gets hit pretty hard by graduation. They lose most of their top offensive impact players and a nice chunk of their defense. They still have a deep team that should still be strong.

 

- Etown showed improvement in Brown's First Year, but never really posed a threat as a Title Contender. The Panthers have a ton of experience returning though led by Bernil Cecil. Anticipate Etown taking a big step forward and be the Favorite in their District, but not sure they will have enough defense to compete for the Title.

 

- Paducah Tilghman withstood a killer schedule and showed positive signs in Roger's inaugural campaign. The improvement was marked and Tilghman should return a nice collection of talent to build off in 2015. Jesse Dunigan returns at QB and Sayveon MCEwen is a playmaker at WR and DB. Derek Milelr and Parker Belt both return on Defense. The question will be can Rogers get PT's numbers up and find some size to compete.

 

- Lawrence County will be very strong offensively. With Kiser back at QB and possibly the best WR in EKY in Timmy Dalton returning. The Dawgs will have plenty of experience on the Line as well. The bgi question will be can LC show improvement on Defense?

 

- I expect Pike Central to take a step back. Mac Justice has been starting forever at QB along with Elkins at WR. The Hawks lose both of those players along with their starting RB. Anticipate Soph Seth Conn to move from WR to QB, but the Hawks will have a tough time keeping up with Belfry and Lawrence County in their district.

I wouldn't expect much out of Caldwell Co. Making the jump to 3A is going to be brutal for them.

 

They will be fine. Personally, I don't think it's going to be that much change for them.

 

They've played Trigg since the beginning of time.

 

They trade Murray for Tilghman. Flip a coin between those two the last few years? Fair? Granted..that's a very expensive and shiny coin.

 

Have played Fort Campbell many times before, including being in the old 2A district(s) with them.

 

Union County they have a history with.

 

Granted, Mr. Sindelar is gone, but from all I know about them...Dee Cain and the boys returning have some good crops of kids behind them.

 

Tilghman's MS group was LOADED this year, and it took a Kick Off Return at the almost very end of the game for Tilghman to win (I know we can't base everything off MS squads, but it does give a little bit of indication).

Well I can give a little about Boyle.

 

We return most of the O Line, I think we lose our LG and RT. We lose both of our backs but we have 2 marvelous backs in Eric Brown and Gunner. We lose both Recievers Keagan Hinkle and Zach Leigh. They led the team in receiving. We do have 4 or 5 other quality recievers on the roster including Senior Nick Roney, Sophomore Kevin Hatfield and Junior Evan Tarter.

 

Defensively - We lose nearly all of our D- Line and our Outside Backers and 1 Corner that was in our rotation this year.

 

We return everyone else. We look for our Sophomores to step up.

Of all of the powers to be in 3A, how many would have guessed that District 1 has the most teams with multiple titles? I'm guessing not many. And, the main reason Union County doesn't is bc all of those others (plus Tilghman, Murray, and Mayfield) have stood in their way over the years.

Hmmmm.....no one is mentioning Garrard County? I think they had a quality team this year and I think they have a good amount of talent returning. Can someone correct me if I am wrong? Shouldn't Garrard County have a pretty good team next season and that make District 4 a district of hell?

I can't remember the last time Boyle Co and/ or Lex Catholic not making it past the 2nd round. These program year in and year out wins state champs/ regional champs and making it to state semi's.. Including Lou Central.

That's the whole point of the initial statement. Whether it is Boyle County, LexCath, Central or Bardstown......two of these schools will not make past the 2nd round of the playoffs for the next four years. All four schools are high quality programs.
