Mayfield didn't adjust to anything.  Middlesboro D dictated the whole game, save for a late rushing TD by Mayfield with a few minutese left in the game.  Mayfield D actually played decent.  Gave up a couple rushing touchdowns but the rest of the scores were field goals.  Mayfield QB wasn't knocked out of the game, but it seemed like the MLB for Middlesboro had like 5 sacks.  That's almost the same as knocking him out of the game.

Mayfield got out of the tight formation. Mayfield scored on a Bo Neely touchdown.

That guy was a beast! It seemed like he was in Mayfield’s backfield on every play. 

I still have nightmares from the Middlesboro game in 98, man they were some tough kids.

Beechwood has never beat Mayfield!  The 300 pound monkey has grown into a gorilla over the years.  ''The proud Beechwood program, all these years later still has this hanging over their heads and it leaves a nasty spot.  I would assume some would rather get that gorilla off the Tiger back than win the title.  We know, we once had a fleet drop anchor in Mayfield and when we finally got them off our back it felt to me better than a title.  When we go visit my wife's family in NKY  for the holidays I still love to go eat at Barleycorn's and of course I get pure pleasure out of the looks I get wearing a Cards shirt no matter if its a title year or not in Ft. Mitchell.

I definitely want Beechwood and Mayfield to play this year.  Ideally as a Tiger fan I would like to see Mayfield beat LCA in the semis and then Beechwood beat Mayfield in the finals.

Could happen, if Mayfield's opponets keep losing I can see Beechwood slide into the 2 spot and that would be tough on a still very young Mayfield squad.

Actually Beechwood didn't have more titles, each program had 6 over that time period.
