As of the census of 2010, there were 998,954 people. There were 404,765 households with 263,423 family households. The population density was 1,966 people per square mile (773/km²). There were 423,749 housing units at an average density of 834 per square mile (322/km²). The racial makeup of the county was 70.3% White (68.9% Non-Hispanic White), 23.3% African American, 0.2% Native American, 3.5% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.9% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.5% of the population.[40]

The grand jury is made up from the county.

Yeah, sounds like a racial incident could happen in the Danville city limits but a jury made of people from Junction City and Forkland could make a ruling on an indictment. I'm sure they'd come with an open mind into the process.

St. Louis City is NOT in St. Louis County. Odd but true. Believe the city seceded from the county more than 100 years ago. St. Louis City is not in a county. The seat of government in St. Louis County is Clayton, not St. Louis. In other words, the grand jury investigating the Ferguson shooting would not include any residents of St. Louis City.

The grand jury is selected from the county.

The grand jury is selected from the county.

That's a problem IMO.

What are the facts of the case and who says they are the 'facts' of the case? Why do I 'have' to take the prosecutor's version of the 'facts' when the prosecutor is misleading the grand jury and nobody cares about that?

The prosecutor didn't give any facts. Witnesses did.

The prosecutor didn't give any facts. Witnesses did.

Oh now the witnesses are 100% accurate? :lol2:

Some witnesses provided factual evidence, yes. Some provided testimony supported by evidence. Some provided testimony that was proven false by evidence.

My point was it isn't the prosecutors facts.

My point is that you can't always trust the evidence.

I'm having a really hard time coming to a conclusion on this subject. I've read this entire thread. I'd like to believe and trust in the system and the evidence seems to be in favor of Wilson for the most part. The other part of me also believes in the racial aspect of this and that's the part that is hard to wrap my head around. We are obviously still very divided as a county and things like this sure aren't making it any better. We have a long way to go.

A long way to go. It's so unfortunate too.

We'll never know. The system protected Wilson the way the system always does. You know how OJ Simpson was acquitted? There were 2 white jurors and 1 white alternate. Out of 14 people who would or could have a say in OJ Simpson's case 11 of them were minorities. Ferguson is 68% black yet 9 out of the 12 people on the Grand Jury were white. Miss me with all that evidence crap and facts crap. Between a whitewash on the jury(in a predominately black town) and a prosecutor with ulterior motives there was no way this case was going to trial and that is why blacks do not trust the system.

Aren't jurors selected based on county ? What are the demographics of the county.

That's a problem IMO.

I've been on your side on militarization of police. I was even attacked on this site at the start of the case for saying it didn't look good with the initial info and waiting for more info to come out before I made a decision. But I can't understand how after all the info has come out how anyone can question the result. The physical evidence is clear . I don't understand the concept of making a martyr out of someone who committed to felonies in a matter of minutes. There are cases in these type of cases where I would be on the opposite side. But in this case it is clear cut .

On the Grand jury point I'm confused on what you are asking. You want a juror to be selected for each individual city ? This seems crazy. Courts are set up on a county basis , why would a juror come from only one city.
