November 18, 201411 yr Who is still a free agent that the Braves might sign? No one really sticks out on the free agent list. If they traded or moved Johnson to 2nd they could try to sign Chase Headley to play 3rd. Don't see a lot of pitching options on the FA list.

November 18, 201411 yr Chris Johnson at second? God please no. Why not? Can't be because of fielding because he improved on that from 2013. He had 6 errors last year, not horrible for 3B, moving to 2B should cut down on that as well.
November 18, 201411 yr I'm not really that upset that Heyward is gone especially if he is going to command an obscene salary in the near future. If I'm not mistaken, he has settled into being a .270 hitter with not a lot of power and a hole in his swing. He is admittedly a very good defensive player. If I'm the Braves brass, my first priority is keeping Freeman. I'm no GM, but are .270 hitters that hard to come by?
November 18, 201411 yr Cards have now joined the Lester discussion too. Maybe trying to drive price up on Cubs...

I don't think he'd be a very good 2nd baseman. I just don't think it would be easy to move a guy who's not really great defensively at 3rd to a new position. Not to mention he's huge. Isn't he 6'4" or so? Are there many 2nd basemen in the majors that are that big?

He signed before last season for 8 years, $135 million.

November 21, 201411 yr Lester left without an offer today apparently. The Red Sox offered him 6 years and between $110-120 million yesterday.
