Was the last drive by Mississippi State solely for the purpose of making the score closer for the committee down the road? They were playing like they were down one score instead of two.

Yeah, but the way Auburn beat Alabama, on a once-in-a-lifetime play, I'm okay with what they did.

I don't lose sleep over it, but yes, even on a play like that, Auburn shouldn't be rushing the field.

Perhaps Dak Prescott had money on the game. The TD allowed MSU to cover.

Bama plays good for part of the game and then allows their opponent to make this one look closer than it was.

Their opponent was the top rated team in the country. I could make a case for Bama being the best team in the country, as I told people on here after bama lost a game and everyone thought they were mediocre. I could also make a good case for at least 4 sec teams that deserve to be in the tournement. This 4 team playoff is going to be a joke.

If you can find a post where someone said that, I'd like to see it. I think the general statements were to the effect that this isn't as dominant a Bama team as some recent teams. And this result does not change that. It is really, really, REALLY hard to beat Bama in Tuscaloosa. They've played four games on the road. They lost one. They easily could have (and maybe SHOULD have) lost to LSU. They easily could have lost to an Arkansas team that is likely going to pick up their first SEC victory tonight. Only the UT game did Alabama really flex their muscles, and even in that one they lazily allowed them back into the game.

Alabama is held to a high standard. They may well be the best team in the country. But I do not believe the statements that people were making have been disproven. At least not the ones I'm thinking of, but I may have glossed over more critical ones.

I'm not going to do your research for you, but I remember some people writing them off. Just like your trying to do with the woulda/coulda/shoulda's in reference to a couple of games they won, on the road. The truth is they have one loss and are playing better football than anyone in the country.

I'm an FSU fan. All I've been reading this year is woulda/coulda/shoulda. And where I come from, the person who makes a claim like you did - that people called them mediocre - is the one that should be doing the research to back that claim up.

BTW, your claim that I'm "writing them off" when all I said was not as dominant as in the past and "may well be the best team in the country" is fairly laughable.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to ignoring a game that is giving me heart palpatations.
