November 7, 201411 yr My husband read a article similar to this months ago and ask me.....what fish do you buy? He said, " Don't ever feed me Tilapia." I only buy Cod or wild caught Salmon.
November 7, 201411 yr Lol! If you do enough research on any food they will find something about it that's not good for you.

November 7, 201411 yr I like tilapia. And most every fish. Thankfully, I seldom buy fish because I catch enough to never need any.
November 7, 201411 yr Wait....fish sticks aren't made out of Tilapia are they? This was how the wife used to use "code" to let me know that she wanted to go out to eat. "We'll probably have fish sticks and tater tots."
November 10, 201411 yr This was how the wife used to use "code" to let me know that she wanted to go out to eat. "We'll probably have fish sticks and tater tots." Get ya some mac & cheese and it sounds like a good meal to me!
November 10, 201411 yr Wait....fish sticks aren't made out of Tilapia are they?I watched a documentary on a fish boat once and it was eye opening. It was a large vessel that caught cold water white fish. They took the filets and packaged them for restaurants and grocery stores. Then everything else went in to a paste that was packaged and used for the molded fish filet sandwiches that fast food joints sell, and fish sticks, etc. Then the waste, guts, etc. all went into a giant vat. From that they squeezed out all the juices, which was used to make fish oil tablets (for all you omega 3 fans) and other fish oil products. That part was NASTY. Then the dry waste was used to make a meal which was sold as a supplement for fertilizers, etc.
November 10, 201411 yr 100 years from now every one of us will be dead. I will spend the afterlife reminiscing about how yummy bacon, cheese, sour cream, tilapia, or (you name it) were to eat, instead of saying, "Huh, I avoided all that yummy stuff and I died anyway." Now throw some bacon on that fish sandwich!
