I would not pencil NCC in the semis just yet.

Walton Verona is a definite underdog to New Cath, but they certainly are capable of pulling off the upset if both teams get there. New Cath has work to do to get to the semis, that is for sure.

I like our spot, better than CAL's. We need to play, we missed 2 consecutive weeks already, and it hurt us. Our first round matchup with Green County will help us more than a bye would. I like our second round match up better than CAL's. We'll more than likely face Glasgow, while they'll get Bardstown. The only benefit i guess is we'll have to play at CAL, but honestly that doesn't hurt us much as we don't have a real home field anyway.

I can see Owensboro Catholic making the semi's.

The district CAL is slotted against chose to only field three teams for the second year in a row. Not sure why, but it is what it is.

Murray and OB Catholic are both capable of knocking off Caldwell in Rgn 1, but, if Caldwell plays up to its potential, I look for them in the semi's and they'd only have to play one or the other. I look for Desales to be there waiting on them, like last year, being knocked off by CAL in regular season and getting redemption in the playoffs. I think the winner of that matchup wins it all. On the east side, I look for W.Verona to pull an upset and make it to semi's, knocking out Newport and NCC along the way. They've been the most consistent team on that side of the bracket. I think Prestonsburg starts playing up to its potential and meets WV in the semi's where there experience against better competition thruout the year gets them to BG, only to be on the losing end in the finals..

Class 2A, District 3 only has 3 teams in that District. Clinton County was the 4th team and elected to drop from that district last year. Not sure why, only the obvious. I know its crazy only having a 3 team district, hope they realign more efficient next season.

I think Newport is the team to beat on their side of the district. NCC is the only team that can beat them, IMO. Walton has had a great year, but has already lost to Newport once and Newport is much better now. I could be way off on this because Newport has been very undisciplined at times this year and that could cost them a win against the better teams

NewCath has the most untapped potential. They have yet to put a full half together, forget game. IF, and at this late juncture it is a big if, they finally get it together, they can give anyone in AA fits. They have 3 kids that are legit threats to take it to the house each time that they touch it. Discipline and anticipation on the lines is key.
