Come on guys. I understand the west bias, but lets be real here. NO west team gets out of the second round in the east. Lets see, they would have to beat one of DeSales, CAL, Caldwell, Murray, or O Cath. Not happening. Sad that the east will have to lose so many good teams this week so that eastern teams can advance to the nest round.

Well, this is confusing and maybe a bit misleading as well. I get the intent of the message is to say that no EAST team would advance past the second round if they were playing in the WEST. There's no way to know that because of the vast differences in the schedules. Outside of CAL and DeSales, I'm not convinced any of the other West teams are significantly different than the top East teams. Owensboro Catholic's schedule is terrible and I'm far from convinced that Caldwell County's defense is good enough to keep winning, especially as the weather turns.

I agree that at present CAL and DeSales are the cream of the crop in 2A and the road to Bowling Green goes through Louisville this season. heck, everyone in 2A and the rest of the state sees that. The true title game in 2A is the third round matchup of those two teams backed up by the semis that would place one of those two against a Caldwell, O Cath, Murray winner. I understand the east bias on here, and especially the N KY bias as most on here feel no football is played outside of that area, and that is fine. But please be objective in seeing that the best 2A teams in the east while they might give the second teir teams in the west a game for a while they would fall very short this season. Great thing about high school football, POLLS mean nothing. We have a playoff system. Doesn't matter what people's schedule's are, records don't matter anymore either. West is LOADED, but does anyone make it out alive? You have to admit that EAST people. BUT AGAIN, this is irrelevant may the best 2 teams play each other in December. AND may the best team in that game win.

Again, I conceded that CAL and DeSales appear to be the strength of 2A this year. But how can you know that OC, Murray or Caldwell are loaded compared to the East teams when there are no common opponents. I would contend that NCC, Newport and likely Walton would have the same records playing those schedules. We've seen this before where a team averages 40-50 points a game, appearing to be an offensive juggernaut because they're playing teams that think defense is the thing that goes around de-yard.

 

The East is down this year but I don't believe for a second that the 7-8 best teams are in the West. Problem is, we'll never know because only one will advance from each side.

And for that reason I hope that Caldwell, Murray, or O Cath can pull an upset it the semi finals. I believe it will be Caldwell's chance to have, but you never know and I am partial. I don't disagree with you, but I think we have the East vs. West thing because of travel concerns and costs for schools (of course going to 6 classes in football didn't really do much to help that either).

That's a good idea in theory but will never work. I'd just be happy if the semi-state at least was at an agreed upon neutral site.

I don't think anyone is being biased on here this year. I'm a NewCath guy and I don't think the Breds stand a chance "IF" they make it back to the title game (just my brutally honest opinion). But I will be pulling for them if they make it back and anything can happen. However, just like last year the West is loaded again, it's just a fact.

Considering the games are played at night, how often does that happen?

If Danville gets their wheels rolling then they could make the Finals

I'm just glad everyone is overlooking my Prestonsburg Blackcats. I picked this team to be in Bowling Green from the beginning of the season. Although we have sustained several injuries along the way I still predict we will be playing in December.
