Boyle County 51 Mercer County 0

I was just waiting to see the two players Starks said Boyle could not stop do something, I am pretty sure both of them touched the ball last night. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes they both had touches. Boyle did a good job of containing both of them and not allowing them to get into free space where they would have posed problems.

Mercer just isn't good. Really don't know how they beat Boyle last year in the playoffs.

That's easy. They walked into the game as cocky as their fans and before they knew what was going on Goodman was running all over them and then when they tried to come back at the end of the game they missed the extra point that would have sent the game to overtime. That and Boyle was overrated last season. What does last season have to do with this season? Last season Mercer wouldn't quit on the field and we could count on them to show up every game. This year it's a coin flip which team will show up. Mercer left this game when it was 16-0 with 10 minutes left in the 1st quarter.

Starks, according to you they are overrated this year as well. They just put 51 on Mercer who has all of these fabulous athletes and Boyle according to you has none. Did you actually watch the game? Mercer won the last game last year, but Boyle was not overated. They had already beaten Lex. Cath. and won the district regular season. I really hope that Mercer stays on Boyle's schedule because I am really going to miss your analysis and rating system of teams and players. By the way, I don't buy the reason about the two teams not playing because of the coaches friendship. This happens in sports all the time. I think Pardue can't get Boyle off his schedule fast enough just for similar reasons as you saw last night.

Boyle may not be overrated this year. When will Boyle lose this year? I say they won't make it past Catholic and if they get lucky enough to win that game they won't beat Highlands. Does that analysis sound accurate enough?

I saw the game. I saw a team in Boyle that is a better team than Mercer. I saw a team in Boyle that has more talent overall than Mercer but I disagree that it is a huge gap in talent. I saw a team in Boyle that was fired up from the beginning of a game and I saw a Mercer team that needed to bring its A game from the jump to be competitive and failed to do so.

Other than Josiah I still believe that Peavler and Baker were two of the top 3 athletes on the field last night. 2 can't beat 11 last I saw and Boyle did a great job of containing those 2. I could have sworn I said that Boyle did a great job last night already. I guess you guys need to hear it over and over again for reassurance.

You don't have to buy it from me that Boyle and Mercer won't play football against each other after this season. Go ask your coach and he'll tell you himself. He's already said that he wouldn't play Pardue if he didn't have to and Pardue echoed that sentiment.

smith has always had the outlook of not wanting to play friends who are coaches, This was common knowledge during his first tenure.

I know this. Tell that to Country.

Always like it when Merger(Mercer)Co looses. Still hold a grudge.

Been 8 years dude, time to give it a rest.

I don't know where some of you came up with the idea that Chuck Smith won't schedule schools where friends coach. The only team that he would not schedule is South Warren where his son is the head coach. Two of the better money games on the Boyle schedule beside Danville are Mercer and Lincoln. These are good games for the fans and for income for the schools athletic funds. Boyle always takes a big crowd to their away games. The only reason you are hearing this rumor is because Pardue does not want to have face Chuck Smith coached teams. I am sure his principal would not want to lose their biggest money game of the year, since Boyle would play at Mercer next year. With Travis Leffew coaching at Lincoln, the same situation.

It's not about money. It's about winning and challenging the kids and getting them ready for championship runs. Next year's schedule will do that. You guys complained about how weak our schedule is this year. Just wait.

The last paragraph of the Advocate Messenger game preview Chuck said he really dislikes playing against his friends. I know Pardue has said the same. I know it fits your agenda to say Pardue doesn't want to play Mercer but go ask your coach and come back and tell us what he said.

It's been a few years, but I've heard Chuck make the statement that he didn't like playing against friends who were coaches if memory serves me right it was in the advocate several times during his first tenure. You don't have to take my word for it just ask Chuck.

Boyle could have appealed to stay in 4A. They couldn't get away from highlands fast enough.

Too bad your attempt at negativity is ill informed and reveals you don't know what you're talking about. Highlands is moving to 5a.

Boyle would rather have stayed in 4A when you see how many teams moved up and down from it starting next year.
