Ashland Attempting to Schedule Morgan Co. for '06-'07 Season

Featured Replies

I'm glad to see that Ashland is already 0-1 for next season.

LOL - I'm just playing.

Vote to seed the district tournament & I bet they'll schedule everyone...:thumb:

You are exactly right.

As I recall, Ashland didn't schedule everyone in the district for the 2002-2003 season even though the district was seeded. Instead they took two forfeits for seeding purposes. Why should anyone believe that the next four or five years would be any different? As has been posted above, it was my understanding that Ashland's schedule was already full.

Unlike some, I will remain consistent. I still don't believe in seeding the district unless we seed the regional tournament and the state tournament. I also still believe that it is better for all concerned for Rose Hill and Ashland to go their separate ways for the next few years since neither school trusts or respects the other. By looking at the talent level in both schools from the fourth grade up, over the next few years such an arrangement is far more beneficial to Ashland than to Rose Hill. After all, it is merely a matter of principle.

I hope they can work this out. Morgan Co. has a quality program as does Ashland.

I think every school has the right schedule who they want but I thought the reason Ashland would not schedule Rose Hill was because their schedule was full. Did they have a cancellation? Or what?

:creepy:

Isn't that sort of like racial profiling?

Not at all Play Ball !:walk: :walk: :walk: :walk:

What about the 2002-2003 season? --since you said they would schedule if seeded.

I hope they play. By the way, Morgan did not come close to averaging 1,000 per game. That would be about a capacity crowd at every game and that did not happen this year.

It did happen this year...gate receipts speak volumes...that is only the "paid"...as well. Gym seats 1096 but you can't forget about standing rail which can accompany (standing) many.

I know of three instances of crowds of over 1,200 (1 was district) 3 of 8 with those numbers....Smallest crowd was Lewis Co. game...around 750-800.

Do I need the gate receipts? They are public record.

It was confirmed recently Morgan Co. did avg. that many BogeyMan. Unless people paid double what they should:sssh:

Top crowds at home for Morgan Co.

1. Boyd Co.

1. West Carter (District)

3. Rowan County

4. Elliott County

5. Menifee County

6. Wolfe County

7. Prestonsburg

8. Bath County

9. Lewis County

I can't argue with Nets on a Morgan Couty question. Sorry if I was wrong. I watched 4 of those games and wouldn't have estimated the crowd that high, but I was only guessing.

Hang in there BogeyMan....:thumb:

I'll bite when I see the Ashland bus in the parking lot. BTW, Nets that 93 memory is as painful now as it was then. Oh well.
