Also wait and see if Hedger will play basketball this year. Kid is 1 or 3 TEs in the state to get D1 offers.

Why would Hedger play basketball this year? He should be getting ready for college football.

Dixie's success will be determined by how well their bigs play.

Rabe, Moore, and Schreck are tough guards at both ends of the floor that will likely average 10+ ppg this year and I think Schreck can average around 10 rpg...he really came on toward the end of last season and crashed the boards hard.

If Hedger, Niehaus, and especially Bolin can make an impact defensively, I think they have enough depth to spread the scoring around amongst the other player to be successful. I also look for Isbel to finally come out of his shell and play with more confidence. He had some unreal dunks this summer. One of the best athletes in the area.

I'm really looking forward to seeing soph Hunter Meyer this year. He didn't play football this year to focus on hoops and it showed in his game. I think he will establish himself as one of the top 3-5 sophomores in the area this year. Very talented kid.

We've seen the success the football team is having with the experience that this senior class brings and I think the hoop team will experience similar results.

Meyer will be a good one.

If Dixie makes a deep run in 6a football. Moore and Hedger will have to play catch up

Hedger and Moore were both at summer work outs, despite playing football as well.

Neither will be that far behind.

Newport is the team that is really having it rough right now because of all the football kids. They are basically doing skill work, 1 on 1, and 3 on 3 because they only have 7 legit players in the gym right now.

hedger played all summer and spring with a knee injury that required surgery. He is now 100%. That was suffered playing basketball.

Johnson or Adkins from Grant County (take your pick) should be on the list.

So if I'm reading the tea leaves you're doubting he plays basketball in order to stay healthy for APSU?

Not sure at this point. I will say the knee is the reason he could not get out to bigger school football camps. His offers were from JR. year camps tape. With many big schools asking him to attend with personal invites.

AP would like him not to play.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't play basketball this year.

Grant County isn't in this poll. It's NKY schools and they aren't considered that geographically.

I think the person that you quoted has tried to tell you and others more than once that the kid might not play basketball, yet you keep trying to refute that.

Sorry I assumed that since there was discussion about SK then Grant would also be considered since they are in the same district.

Highlands coach Kevin Listerman sends his condolences. :lol2:

It's all good. Honest mistake and you bring up a good point Grant and SK in the same district.
