You might not have a problem with paying twice, but it seems all sk's other fams did. Why don't you let them know we don't do that down here in the eigth region, our gym is big enough. I made my my first comment on the basis that of the eight teams in the tourney--sk brought the least amount of people. To be so "good" they don't have a very good following.

I for one wish they hadn't left the 9th. I think you are getting your panties in a knot over nothing!! I also think that this has been the Scott, Oldham, and Shelby County invitational so long that is why I struck a nerve here!! I am sure that Scott or Oldham could host this tourney. Seating is never a problem with my my crew we come early and get the better seating.

 

I want you to honestly address this as well.......New Castle for a final destination??? I would not have a problem paying twice either .

 

The only reason I mention the 44 year absense of Henry Counties is this, I think if they were actually in the regional tournament they might liven up the place.

#2 I have had no problem with the 8th region being the Oldham/Scott/Shelby Invitational over the years( except we all know that Scott Co. achieved alot of their success with transfers ), the best deserve to win region championships. They are/ were(Scott) the largest schools in the region.

#3 Oldham's gym for region site ? Then you would have a 9th region Ryle/Conner situation. Scott Co. no longer resides in this region.

#4 I have no problem with New Castle for a final destination, as it was my school AND your schools final destination:jump: I am sure they will meet in next years 8th region tournament.:thumb:

I do have to point out you might want to rethink your #2 point calling out Scott County.

 

Now that I stirred this up I think Scott High school got the better Regional realignment. Mason County's fieldhouse is one of my favorite venue's.

You are more than welcome to go back to the 9th region where they clear the gym between games and you have to pay twice the same night.:irked: I think PA music is EXTREMELY annoying . I go to watch the games . I have never had any trouble with the parking at Henry Co. I should have known that some SK fan would complain about the facilities. Facilities that the 9th have nothing comparible . I have been in SK's qym, nothing to write home about. People in glass houses should not throw stones.

I wasn't making light of Henry's lack of Sweet Sixteen appearances. I was referencing their lack of 8th regional appearance's. I would hate to be hosting other schools fun year after year. I was just saying they would probably pop the metal top off of that barn if they played in and won the 8th!!

Re think what ? I know it , you know it, everyone in the whole state knows it. I am not making sweeping assumptions. I am stating facts. I am not accusing them of the dreaded "R" word:sssh: , i am just stating that some key players were in fact transfers.

I the personally like the "tobacco barn" at Henry Co. and i hope the 8th region tournament stays at Henry Co. for a long time to come. Unlike most in NKY , the rest of us know our way around outside of the Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties. Just kidding. We will have to agree to disagree.

All I am trying to say is they did a great job 15 years ago and it has went down hill since. The reason is where else would you go. So why try to impress. It should be treated as a special event not your last game of the season so go home please.

Don't know where you come from, but be carefull what you wish for. You could become even more spitefull! By the way, they don't sell programs in the 8th? You got to be kidding!:sssh:

Do you boone county people have an excuse for everything... Let me guess, the long drive had something to do with it too. It's alright to lose and how are you going to fit all of those people in any other gym in the 8th region?? Guess what you will have to drive all the way back down there next year.

If you are referring to Sk they are in Kenton County not Boone!

Other than the locker room situation, I see no problem with the way the tourney is setup. Parking is a problem at most places so that is something that can be expected. The best team wins regardless of where you play especially on a neutral court. What is the problem? Pay for gas, watch the game, end of story.

This thread was meant in no way to make sour grapes over Sk losing to Shelby. I am a diehard SK fan but if you take time look at my regional picks in the contest. I picked Shelby to win.

I haven't been to Shelby County's gym or to Oldhams?? I am not lobbying for it to be in SK"s gym either. I am used to tournaments like the LIT. The Toyota Classic, The AIT, and of course I have been to the 5th 3rd Classic at Lexcath.

 

I just thought it was a antiquated gym . I am sure the people of Henry County work hard at hosting this.

 

I just felt there was a lot left to be desired. The second night I was there we had to park way in the back by the football field. I was ok walking back to the gym with my teen-age sons, but I thought they could have ran a shuttle for the elderly.

 

I also noticed that this is a real convenient location for Shelby and Oldham Counties. I am guessing it is only about 15 or 20 minutes for both schools, am I right?? Hence they should have the largest followings.

 

When SK played in the 9th region's tournament they usually had it between three locations Ryle, Holmes, or Conner. They all had blacktop parking and you knew to get there early.

Henry County has been the host forever for several reasons:

 

(1) Largest gym in the region

(2) Almost always a neutral floor

(3) It sits in the middle of all the regional schools

(4) It is supported by the community. In case you didn't notice, there is nothing in New Castle or Eminence to distract from the event.

 

It should stay there. If it was held at Shelby, Oldham or anywhere else, people would complain about the home court advantage.

skfan: It sounds to me like you want the 8th Region to change their way of doing things to be like what you are used to.
