I thought it would be fun to just look at some of the various winter outlooks for the upcoming winter. Well according to the ones I've seen so far, with the forecast for this year's El Nino look to be weak to weakly moderate and other factors we may be in for a winter with below average temperatures and average to above average snow fall.

Now it is impossible to say how much snow or how cold it will get this far in advance. Just thought I would put this out. Outlooks are showing there maybe something around the middle of November that should be watched. Again it is way too early to say if we will get snow then.

So what you're saying is we may or may not have an average winter? ;)

Uh-oh…..He's starting to sound like those meteorologists on the local news stations.

It is crazy all the different outlooks. From a few months ago I heard about the Pacific Ocean weather patterns mimicking last year's which led to a cold winter. Precipitation was not all that bad. Then I heard a report a couple weeks ago predicting an above average winter. We think of our lower temps the past year and a half being cooler, and they have been, but the trend world wide is that temps are warmer than ever. We had a historically cold winter, but the rest had a historically high temperature season.

No what I'm saying is that the outlooks are pointing to a winter with below average temps and above average precipitation. Somewhat like last years winter.

Outlooks should be taken with a grain of salt. Especially several months ahead. They are not the same as predictions. I've seen some of the ones you mentioned. They have changed a lot since earlier in the year.

I swear, you do it on purpose.

She does, and then scolds the rest of us when we do it. :lol2:

I am talking about acorns. I swear, I could say the sky is blue and you'd try to twist my words into something dirty! Shame on you both! :lol2:
