October 14, 201411 yr In other words, yes it was dirty, there probably isn't a place for it in the NFL but if he comes down with a blown out knee or another concussion from a cheap shot he has no one to blame but himself. If I was an offensive player for the Bengals I'd be doing whatever I could to rein the crap in for fear of retaliation. I just don't get the need for the sending video to the league, complaining in the media, kicker twitter rants, etc.
October 14, 201411 yr Not true in my case, Bengals fans loved to whine about Hines Ward and he's one of my favorite players to ever play. This topic always brings this play to my mind.

He is going to get himself or a teammate injured because there's someone out that will take that shot when they get a chance. As far as how you handle it in the media, I guess that's just a sign of the times.
October 14, 201411 yr It's funny how team allegiance changes your perspective. The lack of objectivity on all subjects, from many fan bases represented on BGP, is nearing the point of hilarity. Why you can't just admit something and still love the team is beyond me. I love the Bengals, have since before their first Super Bowl, and can readily admit these plays were dirty, outside the bounds of normal play, and should be punished. I love Nebraksa and can admit Bo Pelini is ridiculous on the sidelines and is categorically unable to develop a QB that can be a consistent passer. Doesn't make me love them less.
October 14, 201411 yr If Cam Newton doesn't have an Offensive Lineman that is willing to do the things necessary to make sure those things don't go on then Carolina needs some new Offensive linemen. Like it was already said, if it's handled on the field you risk penalties, suspensions, fines etc.

October 14, 201411 yr Apple and oranges... Perhaps it is... it just comes to my mind with the discussion of players aiming to injure, and I've always felt that there was something fishy about that play.
October 14, 201411 yr Burfict was wound up like an 8 day clock. It was obvious at the start of the game. Do I think Burfict is a dirty player? I am not sure. Does Burfict need to do a better job containing the beast within? Absolutely.
October 14, 201411 yr Like it was already said, if it's handled on the field you risk penalties, suspensions, fines etc. If it is handled on twitter and in the media, you risk injured skill guys and superstars.
